Course Description This is an intense, 2-day skills program designed to provide hands-on experience using cadaver specimens aimed at head and neck surgeons at the fellowship, early career, as well as seasoned practitioner levels. This course will provide expert demonstration and hands-on dissection of the commonly used free tissue transfers for head and neck reconstruction. Course Objectives After active participation in this meeting, participants will be able to: Explain the principles and options in the reconstruction of the oral cavity and oropharynx Describe the anatomy and harvest techniques of the forearm, anterolateral thigh, lateral arm, rectus abdominus, and free fibular flaps Discuss and describe the principles in mandibular reconstruction Describe and perform contouring of the fibular transfer to a mandibular reconstruction plate Have had the opportunity for hands-on dissection practice of forearm, anterolateral thigh, lateral arm, DIEP-rectus abdominus, fibular, and scapular system flaps
