SECTION 5 FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES Extinguishing Media: Water fog, carbon dioxide dry chemical. Do not use a water stream. Water stream can disperse dust in air producing a fire hazard and possible explosion hazard if exposed to ignition source. Firefighting Procedures: Firefighters should wear full emergency equipment and approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus. Cool exposed intact containers with water spray. Unusual Fire/Explosion Hazards: High concentrations of dust in air may be explosive. Known or Anticipated Hazardous Products of Combustion: Thermal decomposition products may include carbon oxides, styrene and methyl methacrylate. SECTION 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Accidental Release Measures: Carefully collect and place into a container for disposal. Remove all sources of ignition. Do not generate airborne dust. Do not allow water to enter lakes, streams, ponds, groundwater or soil. Spilled powder can be a slip hazard. Personal Precautions: Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Environmental Precautions: Prevent entry into sewers and waterways. SECTION 7 HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not breathe dust. Wash thoroughly after handling. Wear protective clothing and equipment as described in Section 8. Use with adequate ventilation. Use good housekeeping to minimize accumulation of dust on equipment and surfaces. Keep away from sources of heat or ignition sources. Empty containers retain product residues can be hazardous. Follow all MSDS precautions when handling empty containers. Storage: Store in a dry, well ventilated area. Keep container closed when not in use. SECTION 8 EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION Occupational Exposure Limits: Polymethylmethacrylate Polymer / Styrene Methyl/Ethyl Methacrylate Copolymer 5 mg/m3 TWA OSHA PEL (as nuisance dust) Engineering Controls: Use with adequate general or local exhaust ventilation to minimize exposures levels. Personal Protective Equipment: Eye Protection: Chemical safety glasses with sideshields or chemical goggles. Skin Protection: Wear impervious gloves such as rubber to avoid skin contact. Respiratory Protection: None should be needed for normal use. If the exposure levels are excessive a NIOSH approved particulate respirator appropriate for the form and concentration of the contaminants should be used. Selection and use of respiratory equipment must be in accordance with OSHA 1910.134 and good industrial hygiene practice. Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Impervious clothing as needed to prevent contact. A safety shower and eye wash should be available in the immediate work area. Page 2 of 5
