These acronyms are intended to provide a unifm approach to vaccine references used in ACIP Recommendations that are published in the MMWR, the Pink Book, the American Academy of Pediatrics Red Book; and in the United States, immunization schedules f children, adolescents, and adults. Indicates the Hib polysaccharide PRP (polyribosyl-ribitol-phosphate) and includes the extension T to indicate the protein carrier (tetanus toxoid). (PRP-T is the Hib component in the combination vaccines and.) May be used to designate PedvaxHIB in scientific publications on schedules when the brand name is not used. Indicates the Hib polysaccharide PRP (polyribosyl-ribitol-phosphate) and includes the extension OMP to indicate the protein carrier (meningococcal group B outer membrane protein). (PRP-OMP is the Hib component in the combination vaccine Comvax.)

May be used to designate in scientific publications, w hen it is necessary to distinguish betw een the tw o quadrivalent vaccines. Includes the extension CRM CRM 197 to indicate the protein carrier (a non-toxic mutant of diphtheria toxin). The standard acronym f, used in most situations. This alternative acronym identifies the protein carrier (tetanus toxoid). Either acronym identifies the quadrivalent polysaccharide vaccine. This acronym may be used f either both serogroup B meningococcal vaccines on vaccination recds, schedules, other documents w hen it is unnecessary to distinguish betw een the tw o products. Includes the extension FHbp to indicate the vaccine is composed of tw o recombinant lipidated Fact H binding protein variants. Includes the extension 4C to indicate the vaccine is composed of 4 components (NHBA, NadA, FHbp, and OMV containing PA P1.4).
