VASER HI DEFINITION POST OPERATORY CARE

VASER HI DEFINITION POST OPERATORY CARE The main problem for a lot of people is trying to eliminate pockets of excess fat that accumulate on the abdomen, flanks, thighs, and other areas of the body. Can be a frustrating process even with exercise and diets. Because of that, many people who want to achieve more aesthetically pleasing body contours turn to liposuction, which has been one of the most popular plastic surgery techniques for more than three decades now. Today, you can ask for more natural and athletic results, Dr. Alfredo Hoyos has patented and created the technique of Vaser High-definition Liposculpture. Dr. Hoyos and their team seek to satisfy as much as possible all your expectations. Due to this, it is really important that the following instructions are taken into the account for best results. VASER HI DEFINITION LIPOSCULPTURE PROCEDURE VASER HIDEFINITION is a specialized and advanced form of VASER Lipo which removes fat, defines underlying muscles and significantly improves your proportions. It can target pockets of fat, eliminating them while redefining the shape of your body. It can target fat on the upper arms, chest, abdomen, buttocks, back and upper legs to help transform and improve your body permanently. The post-op care is specialized to take care of patient s lymphatic system and all the full functionality process of the body during surgery. What you should keep in mind after a VASER HI DEF LIPO procedure? 1. What happen after leaving the operating room? After surgery, the patient is taken to the recovery area. It is possible that your doctor has left drainage tubes to prevent fluid accumulation. The position in bed after surgery should be with the trunk and knees flexed, so that no tension on the abdominal wall is generated. You should not get up during the first night. Dr. Hoyos instruct you in performing some leg exercises, which improve circulation and help prevent thromboembolism. Please pay particular attention to the following for 48 hours: Do not drink alcoholic beverages. Avoid smoking. Do not drive a motor vehicle, operate machinery or power tools Do not make any important decisions or sign any legal papers. You may experience light headiness, dizziness and sleepiness following surgery. Please do not stay alone. We recommend one night at the clinic, it will be on observations, to study the evolution immediate surgery. The first day after surgery you will go home accompanied by a nurse Any discomfort is usually controlled with pain medication. It is important that the patient tries to stand up as soon as tolerated, to promote proper blood circulation. You can usually shower within 48 hours. You will be given specific instructions regarding this. Do not soak the incisions for a long period of time. Don t use the bathtub and don t swim until you get the ok from your doctor. 2. Symptoms that you can expect: It is normal to feel a bit discouraged after surgery. This happens because you feel the inability to see the results immediately. This feeling will be temporary and assign the days.. Pain may occur and will be relieved with analgesics. If the pain gets more intensely, you should immediately notify the doctor or his staff. Please do not take aspirin or medication containing aspirin for two weeks after surgery. This includes Anacin, Alka-Seltzer, Florinal, Empirin, Bufferin, Ascriptin, Excedrin, and some cold remedies. Do not take ibuprofen products. You may take Tylenol, extra strength Tylenol or Co-Tylenol. If you have any questions about a particular medication, please contact your doctor.

Small areas of ecchymosis (bruising) in the abdominal region, which is going to disappear gradually around the fourth week. The sensitivity of the skin will be decreased after the procedure but it will be normal with each passing day.. The feeling of tightness and swelling after the surgery is going to decrease with each passing day. During the first 24-48 h. is normal (no worries) comes out of the drainage holes large amount of fluid stain bloodied bandage; this secretion is due to the exit of the anesthetic solution with a little blood. It is normal that after a liposuction has some drowsiness, variable and maybe increase your temperature. 3. Remember: You will spend a few days resting. To do this you must take vacation from work. The rest is essential for your properly recovery. (Approximately 15 days). The use of compression garment and foams are very important in your recovery, you must wear them 24 hours (the first month, day and night) the next two months you can choose whether you want to use 12 hours (day) or 12 hours (overnight). During this time, they will be only removed for cures, reviews and massages. Complete rest the first two days. After this short period of time, short walks are allowed Drains, if any, are removed after 3-8 days. The stitches are removed after two weeks. You will receive antibiotic medication to prevent the development of any infection and analgesics to control postoperative discomfort. No activities or strenuous exercise for eight weeks. After liposculpture we recommend using compression stockings, to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots. The patient should abstain completely from lifting heavy objects, children or pets. Do not drive a car at least for one week. Do not take direct sun during the first two months after surgery. The patient must attend strictly to control appointments with the Dr. to follow progress of your surgery. You should not take aspirin or any medicine that containing this compound because it can have anticoagulant effect Please do not take medicines that your Dr. has not prescribed. If you cannot stand the pain go to your doctor and follow to the letter the instructions. It is important to have professional help to look after you during the days of your convalescence (to help you to wear the foams and garments; to help you take a shower; to accompany to the postoperative. Compression garments can make the skin getting drying, which is why you have to use moisturizers on the area once the doctor authorized this action. 4. Postoperative Therapy: What is a Lymphatic massage? The lymphatic system is an integral component of the circulatory system and it contributes to the removal and destruction of waste material and toxins while it also aids in the absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins from the digestive system, Lymphatic drainage massage is a profound technique to help increase lymph flow. With an increase of lymph flow immune function is increased. Harmful substances are removed from the tissues and neutralized in the nodes. After Lipo they are required in order to remove the excess lymph fluid and totally alleviate the swelling and discomfort. The sessions that you must have are between 10 to 15 sessions, this treatment can have a truly positive impact on the patient. Why you need to have a Drain or Lymphatic massage? It would assist in decreasing the hardness following lipo It would actually increase the circulation to the treated areas where is harder to evacuate the lymph fluid. It is the most efficient way to reduce swelling and bruising. Remember during the first few days your body will be at its most tender and the initial therapy sessions can be uncomfortable at first but you will feel better through the day. What happen with the drains after surgery? If you have had the short drains inserted at the end of your surgery, these will be removed between 4-7 days after surgery. Each day, your drains will be checked in order to know the amount of drainage. It is important for you to know that if you don t have a nurse it is your responsibility to let us know this information. The nurse is going to explain to you exactly how can you do the count. Your therapist will remove them once they have stopped draining

excess fluid during the massages. What about Foams and garments? They need to be used for three months: The first month 24 hours The Second month only 12 hours (the patient decides whether to use it during the day or at night) The Second month only 12 hours (the patient decides whether to use it during the day or at night) Compression garments are essential as they help to improve the healing process, reducing discomfort and speeding recovery element. Choosing the right garments and foams can have a significant impact on the postoperative period. Follow the advice of your physician and his team to help you in the selection of compression garments A high quality postoperative includes the use of a medical compression garment specifically designed to be used for long periods of time during cosmetic surgery recovery. In addition to providing maximum compression in these areas that have been treated, the garment. The combination of specific and general support compression helps reduce overall recovery time, improve comfort and help you get the best aesthetic result. There are many benefits that these garments offer, among them are: 1. It is easily attached to the skin after surgery or pregnancy 2. They help to reduce inflammation. 3. Reduce the risk of fibrosis. 4. No noticeable under clothing. 5. Reduce pain and post-operative discomfort. 6. Provide greater control. 7. They shape the body (waist, abdomen, back, buttocks...) 8. Reduce sagging. Other treatments along the lymphatic massage for recovery are performed after liposuction? HYPERBARIC CHAMBER: You may have heard that some cosmetic surgery patients are being prescribed sessions in a hyperbaric chamber after their operation, as it can increase oxygen flow, possibly helping to reduce swelling and speed up recovery time. However, this is not the post-op norm. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, is a treatment where compressed oxygen helps to speed recovery, and it s typically prescribed after any plastic surgery. ULTRASOUND: Inflammatory Phase Therapeutic usage, safety, precise control and excellent, predictable results have made ultrasound an important addition to cosmetic surgery practices. New and current uses of ultrasound include facial and body skin-rejuvenating treatments, reduction of stretch marks, treatment of contracture and scar tissue such as around breast implants, and the pre- and post-operative treatment of plastic-surgery patients to accelerate healing and recovery after procedures such as face lifts, tummy tucks, and liposuction. NON INVASIVE TECHNOLOGY- Venus Legacy-After one week of surgery: This technology has the ability to tighten skin non-invasively. It can be used on liposculpture patients. After liposuction, patients can experience sagginess or lumpiness. Using the Venus Legacy can speed up the healing process without causing any additional discomfort or downtime. What happen in your recovery time? Each patient will have different healing deadlines after surgery. The week after it is important for patients to try to walk to help prevent any blood clots in the legs. After two weeks patients see the changes. At this point the patients probably return to work, if your job is physically, he needs to consult the doctor if you can do it. The healing process depends on each patient. One month after the procedure patients are able to see results and be able to return to a daily normal life. Patients are likely to be fully recovered from 6-8 weeks after the VASER HI DEF procedure has been performed. Your BODY may look swollen for months, but after 6 months you might appreciate your new and amazing stomach. Some swelling may persist for 6 months or more. The end result can be determined in 3 to 4 months. Remember that you can return to retrieve the rendered fat the It is important implements a proper eating plan for weight and height, and exercise regularly.

5.Frequent Questions: Do you need to follow a special diet? The first 48 hours after surgery should avoid meats and seafood, dairy products, acidic foods. Remember to have a light diet. The initial recovery process requires an adequate intake of calories and protein to promote healing and repair processes. Therefore, it is important to include a proper balanced diet to individual needs. When you can return to work? Depends mainly on two factors: 1. The type of surgery. With facial surgeries and Vaser Hi Def lipo, you can return to work in about 8 days. In large operations, as a full facelift or Lipectomy, you must wait 15 days. 2. Depends on what kind of work you do If you work at a desk or office will make it easier for you to return to work if you work outdoors or if you are required to perform physical activity may require more recovery time. Can I exercise after liposuction? This depends. Before exercising again after liposuction, patients should consult their surgeons for the specific and individual guidelines for liposuction recovery. Dr. Hoyos encourages patients to begin a moderate routine to walk three or four days after liposuction. Gentle exercise after liposuction is an important defense against the formation of blood clots in the legs and other post-surgical complications. 1. You can start working slowly after 6 weeks. You can work some abs 2. Exercise you can do: running, elliptical bike, walk fast. 3. The weightlifting can put a significant strain on the incisions and sutures. It is a good idea to start lifting weights slowly after 6 weeks but slowly. Make repetitions with light weight. 4. After two days of surgery, you can start walking. After two weeks you can start with light aerobic exercise. RE- MEMBER EVERY BODY responds differently, because of that you have to be patient and listen to your body and understand its limitations. What happens to the water after the procedure? Drinking adequate amounts of water, teas, fruit juices or soft drinks to avoid dehydration. Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages for 48 hours before surgery and 48 hours after surgery. When you see the results? The results will be available a month, but the inflammation continued until 6 months or more. The inflammation will be less every day that passes When you can go to a beach or a pool? Attend and sun exposure after 3 months of surgery. If you ve had liposuction and you gained weight how long you need to wait for another surgery? It is prudent to wait more than a year. When you can have sex after a lipo? Same as when exercising, sex should be resumed first and then passively increase depending if not cause inflammation, pain or deformity in the operated area. When you can go out at night? Exposure to cold or other adverse environmental conditions can cause pain, especially after procedures like nose s job or body contouring surgeries. It is recommended to wear warm clothing to avoid unpleasant side effects for at least one month after surgery What Will My Nurse Assist you as patient after Surgery? Your nurse can administer your medications and assist you with wound care, drain tubes, etc. They can also provide assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, getting dressed, preparing meals, light housekeeping, laundry and general household management.

It is imperative after surgery that you follow your surgeon s instructions to avoid complications and ensure the best possible results from your procedure. Your specific instructions will vary depending on the surgery performed. The human body has been designed to resist an infinite number of changes and attacks brought by its environment. The secret of good health consists in successful adjustment these changes on the body. Harry J. Johnson
