This year 2016 as witnessed by the Department of Biochemistry was a flurry of activities along with visits to research institutes, regional laboratories and industries. Many renowned scientists and alumnus visited the Dept. and delivered lectures based on their research work from India and abroad under Meet the Scientist Program. Also, under the banner of SBC, Nagpur Chapter many lectures were delivered by eminent scientists. The Dissertation students of M. Sc. Sem III were seen doing experiments using newer techniques and adopting bioinformatics tools, which was a welcome sight. The Annual Social gathering was a flamboyant affair enjoyed by one and all. In this session, around 7 Ph.D thesis have been submitted for the said degree. Another feather in the cap for the Dept. is the achievement of the much needed research boost through a RUSA sanctioned project. Life A blank canvas My life is like a canvas, yet to be painted. And I am the painter, by whom it should be painted. It should be colored I want to, but would it be appreciated, I am not sure to. I am trying my best, but the result comes like a guest; they are meant for rest and I have to accept, though it is against. Canvas is now still So, I need someone to thrill Be it anyone else, But it should be like who, color fills. By Komal B. Kolte M. Sc. II (Sem III) Department of Biochemistry, RTMNU Nagpur
