You re signed up and raring to go. What now? Where to begin? Show potential supporters that you re committed and kick off the donations yourself with a contribution to your Cancer Research UK Giving Page. TELL YOUR STORY Our most successful fundraisers often have really personal Giving Pages. Kit yours out with the works consider including the story of why you ve decided to take part, regular updates, photos, and of course a thank you to your lovely donors! TEAM UP Encourage your friends and family to sign up to Sweatember too. By joining together to fundraise or take on the challenge, you can make Sweatember a real team effort. PROMOTE YOURSELF ONLINE! There are loads of great ways to make sure everyone knows you re taking on Sweatember. Share your Giving Page across your social networks and with your email contacts for some instant results. AT THE OFFICE OFFICE TREATS Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned bake sale or tuck shop at your office! Delight your colleagues with some healthy baking in exchange for them topping up your funds. ASK YOUR EMPLOYER Undertaking the challenge will mean you re fresher than ever at work. What s your company prepared to donate to their new happier, healthier employee? See if they ll match the funds that you raise or make a donation. COLLECT ON THE DESK A collection on your desk is the perfect way for your colleagues to show their support see if you can get it full of spare change by the end of the month! FUNDRAISING EVENTS HOST A QUIZ NIGHT Everyone loves a quiz - make sure some of the questions are sports and exercise themed! WRAP UP EVENT I ll donate when you ve done it! Hold doubters to their word with a wrap up event at the end of your month, and lap up those last minute donations! FUNDRAISING BOOSTERS FILM A VIDEO Film a video of yourself to show that you re taking on Sweatember and share on your social networks. PUT IT TO GOOD USE! Why not offer to exercise at the same time as helping your friends and family? You could walk their dogs or collect their shopping, all for a donation of course. CLEAR OUT THE OLD If you re a shopaholic why not have a clear out and sell off your old clothes? Try auctioning them online or heading to a car boot sale.

TOP 10 TIPS Get your perspiration inspiration here! 1 2 3 4 25 GET ACTIVE ON YOUR COMMUTE One easy way to fit some exercise into a busy working day is to build it into your commute. Why not get off the tube a stop early or cycle, walk or run instead of driving to work.. MAKE IT FIT YOUR CURRENT SCHEDULE Already exercise on some days in the week? Great work keep it up and tell people that you re now exercising every day of the week to raise money for Cancer Research UK! GET OUTSIDE What better way to enjoy a late summer s day than to get exercising outside? Put on your running shoes or get on your bike this September. JOIN YOUR LOCAL FITNESS CENTRE Going to the gym for a swim can be a great way to exercise when the weather isn t so great outside. Gyms will often have all the equipment you need to exercise lots of different parts of the body and helpful instructors to give you some top tips.

5 6 7 8 9 10 GET ACTIVE AT HOME There are plenty of ways to get active at home. Why not use video tutorials to try Yoga or Pilates for the first time? Cleaning the house or gardening can also be great forms of exercise too! GET YOUR FRIENDS INVOLVED Exercise can be much more fun with a group of friends. Why not see what they are up to throughout September? Maybe a friend has an exercise class that they love going to, or you could try out a new sport together. PLAY A SPORT Joining a sports team or competing at a sport can be a way to get motivated, and get a sweat on without even realising it. TAKE REST DAYS Make sure not to go all out every day! Your body needs time to recover. You can still sweat from a brisk walk or other forms of lighter exercise. STAY HYDRATED Sweating is your body s way of not getting too hot when you exercise. It s important to stay well hydrated and replenish the water that your body s lost when exercising. MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN! Take a selfie to show your sponsors how you exercised throughout the month, try something new, exercise with friends...mayble you ll keep it up after Sweatember!

THANKS FOR TAKING PART IN SWEATEMBER TOGETHER, WE WILL BEAT CANCER Believe it or not, you are our most powerful weapon against cancer. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we have funded research which helped double survival rates in the UK over the last 40 years. But we can t stop there, we know that we ve got a lot of work still to do every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound raised. Tomorrow Now we want to go further, faster. Within 20 years we want to see three quarters of people surviving all cancers. Today Around half of people diagnosed with cancer will survive. I feel lucky to be alive and I d like to say thank you to everyone who supports Cancer Research UK. You make research happen.
