Specific chemical identities will be disclosed to competent medical personnel upon request. This is in the event of an actual medical emergency. 3. Hazards Identification Potential Health Hazards Skin: May cause irritation to the skin. Practice good hygiene while handling. May cause dermatitis or sensitize the skin. May defat the skin. Inhalation: Causes irritation to the respiratory tract. Eyes: Can cause blurred vision, burning, redness and base burns. Seek immediate medical attention while constantly flushing eyes with water. 4. First Aid Measures 1

Skin: Immediately wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Eyes: Flush eyes immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Hold the lids back and allow water to thoroughly irrigate the eye. Seek prompt medical attention. Inhalation: Remove to fresh air immediately. Ingestion: Drink plenty of water or milk. Do not induce vomiting! 5. Fire Fighting Measures Flammable Properties Flash Point: Not Flammable. Auto ignition temperature: Not Applicable Extinguishing Media: Material is not flammable. Use water spray to keep containers cool. 6. Accidental Release Measures In case of spill or other material release: Promptly dike spill. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment to include Butyl or Nitrile rubber boots, apron and gloves. Avoid unnecessary exposure. Do not allow to enter waterways or sewer system. 7. Handling and Storage Normal Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not eat or drink in the material handling and storage area. Practice good personal hygiene and housekeeping. Wear goggles and rubber gloves while handling material. 2

Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool, well ventilated area. Store away from acids, oxidizers, copper alloys, lead, hypochlorite and halogenated compounds. 8. Exposure Controls/ Personal Protective Equipment Engineering Controls: Do not handle within an unventilated space. ACGIH TLV (Threshold Limit Value) for Potassium Hydroxide is 2 mg/m3 ceiling. OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) is 15 mg/m3 for Sodium Hexametaphosphate. Personal Protective Equipment Skin Protection: To handle material, wear a Butyl or Nitrile rubber apron and gloves if in potential contact. Eye Protection: Wear chemical safety goggles. Do not wear contact lenses or impact resistant safety glasses. Respiratory Protection: Use a NIOSH approved respirator for Organics if misting. Do not inhale vapor or mists. An eye wash and shower are required in the immediate area. 9.
