Case Presentation This gentleman presents with the Chief complaint I don't like the space between my teeth and fact that my teeth aren't visible when I smile. I am also concerned that my teeth are wearing down.

Diagnostic Wax Up A diagnostic wax up was completed at the increased occlusal vertical dimension
Composite Mock Up The Diagnostic wax up was utilized for an intra-oral composite mock up.
Milled PMMA Provisionals once the overall shape of the teeth and increased occlusal vertical dimension was confirmed, milled PMMA provisionals were fabricated
Milled PMMA Provisionals and delivered
Digital Impression Final impressions were made using the 3M true definition scanner

Scanning Sequence In terms of scanning a complete arch, one can isolate and scan in a gradual sequence. This is tremendously beneficial, as unlike a conventional impression where all the preparations have to be perfect in one pass, the digital impression allows one to acquire all the data in a gradual process and confirm that all of the margins are properly captured

Scanning Challenge-Articulation the master final impressions were made and the casts were articulated.
Scanning Challenge-Articulation Problem? There was an initial challenge of articulating the maxillary and mandibular casts of the prepared teeth. The issue has to do with the way the interocclusal record was taken. In this image, the green represents the motion that was made with the intra oral scanner for the bite registration. this configuration was inadequate to articulate the two casts to each other so, the solution to this issue.

Scanning Challenge-Articulation Solution was to scan the interocclusal record vertically. the vertical scan captures position of the teeth better and allows us to virtually articulate the casts.
