Healthy Recipe Contest 1st Annual Sharing Healthy Recipes and Connecting Wellness with Nutrition Services and Schools Lake Middle School students picked the winner that will be served to students in the fall. Sharing Employee Stories A Mind Shift Success Story: My wellness success stems from a mind shift to "progress" from "perfection." First, I try to plan a weekly menu, including exercise opportunities. Second, I have tried to bounce back from mishaps as quickly as possible. The all-or-nothing thinking and consequential action have made past turnarounds take months, but now I am trying to turn it around in days or weeks. Finally, I am trying to tune into a more collaborative approach to my journey. So many people are on this journey of fitness, weight loss, and mindful choices. I find great inspiration from people who "get real" about the challenges. Sharing/Connecting

Not Me Training! Participant feedback This is the most valuable training I have ever had. I am not afraid any more. Good information and practice Practicing is crucial. It really empowers and makes you be aware. So helpful to overcome the uncertainty of what if thanks for these valuable tools. It was intense, but beneficial; great to practice to get moves into muscle memory. Empowering to learn how to use skills taught through practice with a partners and leaders. WALKTOBER My takeaways.. Leader board motivated me to get out even when I wanted a "day off." The app -- easy to add daily time. Motivated me to try to walk/exercise daily and for a longer period of time. Fun to push yourself more to achieve a goal It was a fun way to remind me to stay active, even as the weather turns colder and we move "inside" Walking with new friends. It motivated me to walk everyday. Support from others. Friendship and feeling like you are part of a team. Being on a team Group activity It got my spouse up and moving too Challenge myself to get out and walk every day Liked to watch how far I travelled each day. The Impact Nutrition Coaching Series My takeaways The info on the foods we eat and what is best. More protein based snacks, mindful eating Foods tips, learning from others Websites and meal ideas
