GC Kalore Composite Resin - Executive Summary There is no question that composites have come a long way in their generations of development. Overall the group rates their current composites very satisfied across the board and five years ago, such remarks didn t occur. This is how far composite themselves and their properties have transcended into acceptance and yet as dentists we absolutely want more because these procedures have continued to be time- consuming and often with mixed long-term results. As a group, the Catapult clinicians placed hundreds of anterior and posterior restorations and their results as you read were found to be very favorable about your new Kalore. One very important category that was noted as a key highlight is the Kalore chameleon effect and the importance of this cannot be minimized. Color as noted by the doctors, is rarely a dual application in the posterior and in fact 65% of the Catapult doctors use one color for posterior restorations 90% of the time and in fact 90% of the doctor s rarely place 2 colors posteriorly. Thus, in our minds a chameleon effect with one color becomes a wonderful characteristic for the material. In our anterior restorations, the numbers flip flop and the majority of our doctors using enamel and dentin shades conjointly. With all this said, the majority of clinicians in North America we believe generally use one color and our group found that 65% of the restorations had full chameleon affect with usage of one appropriate color. In adding up the percentages, 95% of the restorations had this affect more than ½ the time. This is a huge advantage to this product in the market place because doctors want easier esthetics without question. In following along with the most advantageous features, our doctors found them to include: Ease of Polish Resistance to slumping Chameleon effect Polish to high luster These comments all focus on end results and the group overall rated these groups 90% satisfied to very satisfied, which came out throughout report in the doctor s comments. The doctors also clearly feel the stress/shrinkage issues are very important with this material and the message is a very solid message to be both marketed and educated to the end users. In fact, only one doctor was unconcerned about the topic and this again reinforces the importance of the chemistry. Regarding handling, the comments again show the individuality of each reviewer and most found the material very acceptable and yet some concern regarding: adherence to the instrument, thickness and carvability. These concerns all relate to the consistency of the material and there are comments again in the report that discuss these issues. Long and short, unless you make 3 viscosities that are creamy, medium and thick, there is no perfect handling material and yet creamy still appears to be a very desirable characteristic for many users though in this group, that cannot be said! Thus the question was Kalore reviewed favorably and the answer is absolutely. 80% of the evaluators would purchase this composite and that in itself is the highest compliment because as stated in the beginning of this letter, most doctors are very happy with their current composite. The stress/shrinkage story equally is a must to tell to support the beauty of this material. The majority of the doctors found the shade system complete and there are also a variety of suggestions for additional colors. In truth, most dentists use a limited amount of colors and many may find a smaller simplified kit with one or two enamels, the body colors and one or two dentin colors to be fully acceptable. Congratulations on this wonderful material. Lou Graham, DDS President & Founder Mark Latta, DMD,MS Consultant for Technical & Scientific Affairs

My current favorite composite I like the thicker consistency of Kalore the color was amazing, best out there right now Great material but just a bit too thick. 1. How important is the shrinkage stress technology of Kalore to you? Very important important nice to have mild interest Not important Rating Average Shrinkage 60.0% 15.0% 20.0% 5.0% 0.0% 1.70 Comments: Sensitivity has always been an issue for posterior composites and less shrinkage allows a margin of shrinkage as well as possibly less layering as confidence is built in using the material. this is very important Much more the stress and Yes, I think that is very important for posterior restorations. Makes me more interested in the products given I can achieve the same esthetic results as my current composite I do not measure shrinkage Extremely critical 15. What shades and opacities would you suggest for this material? I would like a B 0 opaque shade for an incisal halo and translucency shade for anterior restorations full 16 shade range in dentin shades, 5 opaque shades 5 enamels A1,B1,A2, TRANS A1 A2 A3 B2 B3 C1 bleaching shades. I was pleased with the available shades bleach enamel and dentin, A 1 3, B1, B5 dentin Current selection is fine needs a more opaque dentin shade to use in anterior buildups, otherwise is too translucent a2 Bleach, B!, A1, A2 maybe a darker a5 Thus far the shades I've used are quite good!

A3/A2/A1/B1 Dentin A1/B1 Enamel Full range to be able to offer a complete restorative system I tend to like dark yellow for class 5's for geriatrics and otherwise I found the kit very complete A 2/A 1/BW/AO2/WT/DT all the common ones, a body and dentin. I rarely use enamel shades 16. Would you purchase over other offerings? Yes 80.0% No 20.0% If no, why not? Handling Handling did not beat current material. I like Ice and it's ease of use I found it too viscous to easily adapt to tooth structure 17. Do you have any other observations regarding Kalore? This composite was one of the best composites I have used. Chameleon effect, polish are superior. nice technology too sticky POLISHING THE MATERIAL LOOKED GREAT, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE BETTER HANDLING I loved the polish and it's general handling. Unidose compule did not stay in composite gun as well as other materials. Gray translucent is perfect enamel material Excellent Handling for posterior regions that are harder to reach than anterior. Thickness seemed just right for condensing and contouring prior to curing. I actually loved the diameter of the unidose that seemed a bit larger than what I am currently using. Overall really impressed with it!! Great stuff

The thickness of the material takes a bit of getting used to, but overall this is a winner. When we run out of our existing materials, we will be ordering this for all our restorations. Excellent overall. I really like this material Very easy to handle and nice finish...i'd be willing to work with your company on promoting within my lectures. I wouldn't say that about all composite systems. kalore is sticky to the instrument and I found myself being frustrated at times because of this, however like anything I adapted and used some glaze on the instrument to get around this problem.
