Formulation Guidelines for Synastol TC Synastol TC is a standardized fruit extract of Terminalia Chebula with high content of hydrolysable tannins, typically 50-60%. Synastol TC is 100% natural and it can be easily formulated into stable emulsions, hydrolipid dispersions and serums. Stability testing carried out with 0.5% Synastol TC nonionic lotion at 45 0 C showed minimal color shift after three months. Synastol TC is highly water soluble; therefore it should be dissolved in water prior to adding to the formulation.. Synastol TC should be used at a level of 0.25 1.0% (w/w) of finished formulation. Synastol TC should be pre-solubilized in water and added to the emulsion below 45 C with continuous mixing. For preparation of cold process serums we recommend natural gelling agents, such as Cellulose derivatives, Xanthan Gum & Carrageenan Gum. The finished product must be acidic, preferably having ph below 6. A ph below 5.5 is recommended when potassium sorbate or sodium benzoate is used as preservatives. Synastol TC is highly recommended for skincare, sun care, and body care and anti-aging lotions for improving conditions condition of skin and preventing future skin damage.
