It is characterized by formation of yellowish white patch on the bulbar conjuctiva near to the limbus. Inflammation of Pinguecula is called as Pingueculitis.it is characterized by Pain, Redness, watering and foreign body sensation in eyes. Pinguecula are found in the Nasal and Temporal Limbal conjuctiva. The major cause for this condition is not known but it is found that those people are exposed to sunlight, wind, dust and dry climate for a longer duration are more prone to this disease. Lakshanas of Pingueculitis can be correlated to some extent with the sings and sympotoms of Pishtak. Pingueculitis is more frequent in hot and dry climate. Histological picture is very similar to that of pterygium and hence is considered to be its Precursor. If left untreated with inflammation leads to inflamed pterygium and causes chronic symptoms. Hence there is need to find safe and effective medicine. In Yogratnakar Netrarog Chikisa Chandraprabha Varti Anjana is mentioned as Treatment for Pishtak. Signs and symptoms of Pishtak can be correlated with Pingueculitis. www.wjpr.net Vol 6, Issue 10, 2017. 1090

For comparison between Trial Group and Control Group we have used Mann Whitney U test. From above table we can observe that P-Values for all parameters are less than 0.05 hence we conclude that there is significant difference between Trial Group and Control Group. Further we can observe that rank of Control Group is greater than Trial Group hence control group is more effective than trial group. % Effect Trial Group Control Group Pain 38.5 65.4 Watering 38.7 66.7 F.B. Sensation 37.9 66.0 Redness 37 64 DISCUSSION In the above study it is seen that chandraprabha varti anjana is effective in Pingueculitis. Symptoms of Pingueculitis are Pain, Watering, F. B. Sensation, Redness. All these symptoms are agreevated by bike traveling, exposure to wind, dust and sunlight. Pinguculitis is one of the most commonly found eye disease in society. Chandraprabha Varti is an Ayurvedic preparation to be used as local application (Anjana chikitsa).the incidence of Pingueculitis was observed higher in all age group. Majority of patients having the student & service as occupation. Because they are more exposed to dust, dirt, etc. In the period of 14 days clinically signs and symptoms of pingueculitis were significantly reduced. Effect of Chandraprabhavarti Anjana and Flubichlor eye drop Provided significant relief in this study. No more side effects were observed in patients by chandraprabha Varti during the study. Drugs used in formulation are cost-effective and easily available. www.wjpr.net Vol 6, Issue 10, 2017. 1095

CONCLUSION The entire review of Ayurvedic as well as modern literature on Pingueculitis and Pishtak revealed that the features of Pinguculitis are closely related to Pishtak. This study has proved that Pingueculitis can be managed with conservative line of treatment during its initial stages as mentioned in the classics (ayurvedic literatures) and thus can be practiced in the present era with utmost confidence.overall relief provided by Chandraprabha Varti anjana was as good as Flubichlor eye drop. Trial group drug is as effective as Control group drug. No adverse effects were found after application of Anjana.Chandraprabha varti anjana can be used as conservative line of treatment in Pingueculitis. REFERENCES 1. Dr. Basak S.K. July 2013.
