UPMC Fourth Minimally Invasive Salivary Endoscopy Course Sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences and the Department of Otolaryngology SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2010 UPMC SHADYSIDE HILLMAN CANCER CENTER, COOPER CONFERENCE CENTER CLASSROOM D 5115 CENTRE AVENUE, PITTSBURGH, PA 15232 COURSE DIRECTORS Barry Schaitkin, MD Rohan Walvekar, MD INTENT AND OVERVIEW The UPMC Fourth Minimally Invasive Salivary Endoscopy Course is designed to facilitate dissemination of knowledge and discussion of the most important aspects of inflammatory salivary gland disease. This one day lecture and laboratory experience highlights the basics of salivary endoscopy indications, contra-indications, and complications. OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of the course, participants should be able to: -Recognize new concepts in sialolithiasis. -Recognize the role of salivary endoscopy in patients with salivary swelling. -Be capable of picking ideal candidates for this technique. WHO SHOULD ATTEND This meeting has been designed for professionals interested in treatment of diseases of the salivary apparatus. We encourage attendance by physicians and CME oral surgeons. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine designates this education activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Other healthcare professionals are awarded 0.65 continuing education units (CEU s) which are equal to 6.5 contact hours. 1

REFUND/CANCELLATIONS All cancellations must be in writing and received by Thursday, September 16, 2010 to be considered for a refund: If prior to the course a replacement is found, the tuition fee will be refunded, less a $100 processing fee. Replacements are the responsibility of the cancelled party. If no replacement is found, no refund will be made. Any cancellations received after the September 16, 2010 deadline will not be refunded.
