CLEVE The Rotary Club of Cleveland was chartered in 1962 by Rotary International, and has served the Redland s community for 50 years with activities such as: Supporting Redland s youth through driver awareness programmes, youth leadership courses, summer science schools, mentoring programmes, and scholarship grants. The Club has formed an Interact Club to encourage youth to be more aware of the needs of the local and international communities and follow the path of service to others. Providing residential facilities for the local hospital for families of patients. Supporting the development of the Redlands Museum and the establishment of Meals on Wheels to better serve the needs of the frail and housebound in the Redlands.
Providing improved park and recreation facilities Supporting local not for profit organisations and individuals, financially and with volunteer labour Currently the Club is supporting the community of Murphy s Creek in the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane at it rebuilds itself after the devastating floods of January 2011. Nationally, through Australian Rotary Health Research Foundation, the Club supports Interplast, which provides surgical and allied health services in the Asian-Pacific region, and many other Rotary initiatives. The Rotary Club of Cleveland has also served the international community. It participates financially in the End Polio Now Campaign that will see the crippling and debilitating effects of this disease wiped from the face of the earth. The Club provided funding for Shelter Boxes that were sent by Rotary International to assist with the temporary housing of thousands of displaced people following the disastrous earthquakes in Haiti. With the skills, knowledge and passion of its members, the Rotary Club of Cleveland has contributed greatly to the local and wider community. LAND
Full Membership Full Membership allows a person to become involved with all aspects of the Rotary Club of Cleveland. Full Membership of the Club brings the opportunity for leadership of projects and activities in your community. It provides the opportunity to shape the direction of the Club, and participate in its leadership. You may aspire to lead more than 1 million members of Rotary Clubs across the world. You can achieve that and so much more if you are a Full Member of the Rotary Club of Cleveland. What is expected of a Full Member? Attendance at meetings of the Club Participation in social or community service activities of the Club Be recognised in the community as a Rotarian by wearing the Rotary International lapel pin Attend the meetings of other Rotary Clubs as a visiting Rotarian and participate in District 9630 activities as a member of the Rotary Club of Cleveland Introduce potential new members to the Club Engage with the Club by participating in each half year in at least 50% of the Club s regular meetings and at least three (3) of its community service activities..
How do I express interest in being a Full Member? All you have to do is visit our web site at www.clevelandrotary.org.au, send us a short note with your name, occupation and telephone contact details and the Club will be pleased to welcome you as a guest to one of its meetings. The expense of the first meeting is always on the Club. You will be welcome to come again when you should expect to meet your own cost of the meal and drinks. It is usual for a potential Full Member to attend several meetings of the Club and meet informally with two Club members to discuss Rotary and our Club in more depth before committing to membership. Wives, husbands, partners and children of Associate Members will be welcome to participate in Club activities.
