Keynote Speaker Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R TX), spent nearly three decades practicing as a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology before being elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2003. Congressman Burgess serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and is currently the Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health and the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Energy and Power Subcommittee, the Rules Committee, and the Helsinki Commission. Congressman Burgess is also the founder and Co- Chair of the Congressional Health Caucus.
