Refilling a Prescription: No Refills Remaining When a prescription does not have refills, it must be reauthorized before it is refilled. 1. From the Workbench, press or click the Refill button. 2. Type the prescription number in the Rx(s): field. You have the option to refill one prescription at a time, or you can type multiple prescription number separated by a forward slash ( / ) (e.g., 500008/500004/500009) 3. Press or click the Process button. 2
Refilling a Prescription: No Refills Remaining (cont d) When the prescription opens in Rx Detail to reauthorize it, you will notice immediate changes to the prescription: The authorization number (Auth:) has been replaced with the number (0), indicating that the prescription does not have repeats The Quantity Dispensed (QD) has been reset to zero (0) An alert message warns you that the prescription is not authorized to be dispensed 4. Verify the information in Rx Detail. You will want to ensure all prescription information is correct before proceeding 5. Press or click the Rx button. 6. Press or click the Auth Request function button. To generate an Authorization Request for multiple prescriptions, the option can be accessed from the Rx function list in the patient Profile 3
Refilling a Prescription: No Refills Remaining (cont d) The Authorization Request Form contains patient, doctor and pharmacy information, as well as details of the prescription, and includes Prescriber Certification There is also an Additional Information section where you can add specific notes regarding this reauthorization request by checking the Info from the Pharmacist checkbox You can generate the Authorization Request Form for more than one prescription 7. Press or click the Print or Fax button. Use the Print button to print the Authorization Request The patient s PHN and Date of Birth appear on the Authorization Request An exclamation mark draws attention to notes added by the pharmacist 8. Press or click the Cancel button. This will close the Authorization Request Form 4

Refilling a Prescription: No Refills Remaining @ a Glance The Authorization Request Form window lists each drug that requires authorization Info from the Pharmacist checkbox Selecting this will open space to add more details for the prescriber Information from the Pharmacist window Specific details for the prescriber about the prescription These instructions (as applicable) will be translated to the preferred doctor language Forward and Back arrows One prescriber will be displayed per page Use the forward and back buttons to scroll through pages if the patient has multiple prescribers Print and Fax buttons The Print button prints the authorization request(s) The Fax button sends the authorization request(s) directly through PharmaClik Rx Cancel button Closes the Authorization Request Form window 6
