Medical and surgical solutions are numerous. This course will review medical and surgical otologic issues with didactic and hands-on anatomic sessions. Workshop Highlights This intensive two-day course will provide participants the opportunity to individually practice anatomical temporal bone dissection and various otologic operative techniques using the following: n power drills n dissection tables with built-in ventilation n extensive laboratory sessions n practice of mastoidectomy and ossiculoplasty techniques n wet temporal bone specimens n guest speakers (to be announced)

Objectives/Intended Audience This workshop is intended for otolaryngologists interested in the most recent developments in temporal bone surgical techniques. At the conclusion of the course, participants will have an improved understanding of the microanatomy of otologic operative techniques. The course will consist of didactic sessions, roundtable discussion, hands-on temporal bone dissection and instruction by nationally renowned faculty. The course will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The schedule will include: n chronic otitis media surgery n ossicular chain reconstruction n stapedectomy n surgical treatment of vertigo n round-table discussion of otitis media n acoustic neuroma surgery n cochlear implantation n lateral skull base procedures A detailed daily schedule will be forwarded with registration confirmation.
