THE KEY TO KEY CLUB WEEK CREATED BY THE FLORIDA DISTRICT MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE CHAIR MARIA LANDRON What is Key Club Week? Key Club Week is an international spirit week that happens the first full week of November. This year Key Club Week is November 7-11. Here is a guide on how to make Key Club Week the best week of the year! Monday-Show Your K in Every Way Spread the word about Key Club by wearing Key Club gear. Tuesday Kudos to the Key Players Thank all your amazing members, faculty advisors, Kiwanis advisors and Key Club supporters. Wednesday-Dare to Care Focus on Key Club s major emphasis projects-march of Dimes, UNICEF, and The Children s Miracle Network. Thursday Random Acts of Kindness Spread happiness throughout your school and communities through little things you can do for others. Friday-Connect the Ks Connect with your local Kiwanis Club, Circle K, Builders Club, K-Kids and Action Club.

Monday Show Your K in Every Way 1) Wear your Key Club t-shirt, pin, hoodie or lanyard. 2) Have a Key Club lunch booth to share with the student body what Key Club is all about. 3) Post Key Club trivia questions on social media. 4) Have a Key Club apparel giveaway. 5) Give out Key Club stickers to your club members 6) Write an article and publish it in your local newspaper. 7) Make cardboard necklaces In shape of keys (Great for schools that wear uniforms) 8) Show Key Club pride by using face paint. 9) If you have a larger club host a Key Club Pep Rally. 10) Take a club picture in shape of a K. 11) Make and wear buttons that show everyone how amazing Key Club is. 12) Share a Key Club fun fact/video through your morning announcements. 13) Tell all of your members to share why they love Key Club. 14) Make a banner for Key Club Week.

Tuesday-Kudos to the Key Players 1) Dedicate a breakfast to your school administration, Kiwanians and faculty advisor. 2) Give your Kiwanis Advisor a gift from the Kiwanis online store. 3) Make sashes for your club officers to wear with their officer positions. 4) Have a social dedicated to your amazing Key Club members, Kiwanians and supporters. 5) Give a shout out to Key Club members that go above and beyond. 6) Congratulate club members with a Mr. and Miss Key Club award. 7) Make compliment cards for all staff members. 8) Bring a cake for your faculty advisor. 9) Host a lunch for all staff members to thank them for being amazing! 10) Deliver a gift basket to your sponsoring Kiwanis Club. 11) Give out MilkyWay to staff members and Kiwanians out of this planet.

Wednesday Dare to Care 1) Sell purple balloon-grams during for March of Dimes. 2) Host an Eliminate Project mini-carnival during lunch. 3) Have club members dress up in purple in support of March of Dimes. 4) Bring stuffed animals to children in hospitals in support of the Children s Miracle Network. 5) Host a Dance Marathon for the Children s Miracle Network. 6) Make cards for children in hospitals. 7) Wear purple for March of Dimes. 8) Have a minute of hope for Eliminate. 9) Wear orange in support for Trick or Treat for UNICEF. 10) Have a guest speaker from a Major Emphasis Organization speak at your school. 11) Make non slip socks for a children s hospital. 12) Have a pumpkin smash for The Eliminate Project. 13) Light your school up paper for March of Dimes

Thursday-Random Acts of Kindness 1) Give out candy during lunch. 2) Give out compliment cards to strangers. 3) Pay for someone s meal at a restaurant. 4) Ask a stranger eating alone to sit with you. 5) Let someone in line go in front of you. 6) Bring food to a teacher. 7) Leave cards with inspirational messages on every students locker. 8) Hold the door for someone else. 9) Pass out balloons. 10) Give out sealed envelopes with compliment cards. 11) Make a positive morning announcement that will make your student body smile!

Friday Connect the Ks 1) Have a park clean up with Kiwanis Family members. 2) Have a picnic. 3) Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the less fortunate. 4) Have a food drive. 5) Host a literacy day at your local library. 6) Make dog toys with your K-Family. 7) Host a pizza party to celebrate all the amazing things Key Club has done! 8) Make bag lunches for the homeless at a nearby shelter. 9) Volunteer at a food bank. 10) Build a garden with your Kiwanis Family! 11) Host a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser. 12) Make superhero capes for children in hospitals. 13) Make chemo care kits for kids. 14) Have a Division-Wide Eliminate Party! 15) Host a combined Kiwanis-Key Club divisional council meeting.
