Cardiac CT Course Part A 14-17 November 2014 Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai, UAE

The use of Multi-Detector CT (MDCT) in the diagnosis of various cardiac diseases has become increasingly important in recent years. This is mainly due to high performance MDCT systems with 64, 128 or 256 slice scanners being introduced to routine clinical use. They are used for routine assessment of cardiac and vascular anatomy as well as for the detection of coronary artery stenosis. Recently, initial experiences with measurement of myocardial perfusion and assessment of viability have been undertaken. Together with Philips Healthcare and organized as an interdisciplinary approach, experienced Cardiology and Radiology clinicians have organized a 3 and a half day comprehensive cardiac CT training course to teach state-ofthe-art cardiovascular MDCT targeting both Cardiology and Radiology colleagues who are not yet fully experienced in cardiac CT. Course Design Three and a half day intensive Cardiac CT course aimed at Cardiologists, Radiologists, and senior Radiographers with an interest in Cardiac CT. The basics of Cardiac CT will be established through lectures, live scanning and hands on cases. Over 50 cases will be interpreted and reviewed, sufficient for achieving level 1 ACC/AHA accreditation. Workshop Dedicated training on Philips workstations (One candidate per workstation). Instruction by experienced Cardiac CT readers and Philips applications specialists. Course Objectives How will I benefit from this course? Refresh knowledge in CT Image based cardiac anatomy and pathology Understand the valid clinical indications for Cardiac CTA (as per SCCT appropriateness criteria) Gain insight into cardiac specific CT requirements Learn best practice patient management Learn how to best optimize radiation dose in Cardiac CTA Understand the different scan protocols for Cardiac CTA (prospective versus retrospective) with the benefits and limitations of both Understand the role of calcium scoring scans and be able to report on results Interpret cardiac CTA exam Compile a structured report on a Cardiac CTA Review overview 50 cases Who should attend: This course is designed for, cardiologists, radiologists and senior radiographers with little or no experience in Cardiac CTA. Course accreditation: The course is accredited for 24.25 CME hours by the ACCME Course Language: English Location: Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Centre, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Participants: Maximum of 20 Course Fee: USD 1750 Registration: Click here or go to www.healthcare.philips.com/educate_me
