This document contains some of the most frequently asked questions about Nutrition Clubs. For more details, please refer to the Nutrition Club Rules in your Herbalife Member Pack (HMP) or on MyHerbalife.com. General Nutrition Club Questions Nutrition Club Operator s Training Questions GENERAL NUTRITION CLUB QUESTIONS 1. What is a Nutrition Club? Many Members utilize Nutrition Clubs as a way of doing business. Nutrition Clubs operate with the purpose of introducing and retailing Herbalife products to new and existing customers. A Nutrition Club provides an informal setting for people to talk about good nutrition, learn the value of regular exercise and plan strategies for achieving a healthy lifestyle. 2. What are some reasons for operating a Nutrition Club? A Nutrition Club is a convenient way to create a community experience around good nutrition and where attendees can familiarize themselves with Herbalife products. They provide an informal setting, where members and guests can talk about Herbalife products, sample Herbal Aloe beverages, Formula 1 Meal Replacement shakes, Herbal Tea Concentrate and other products. Should you choose to operate a Nutrition Club, it is easily combined with other business methods you may already be using. You can operate a Nutrition Club from a non-residential location or a residential location provided you comply with Herbalife Member Rules of Conduct and local laws. 3. Who can operate a Nutrition Club? Only Herbalife Independent Members may operate a Nutrition Club. You must complete your first 90 days after Herbalife accepts your Membership Application before signing a lease for the purpose of opening a Nutrition Club in a non-residential location. You must also complete the Nutrition Club Operator s Training on MyHerbalife.com prior to opening a Nutrition Club in a non-residential location. 4. How do I start a Nutrition Club? Here are some things to consider prior to opening a Nutrition Club: Meet with your Sponsor or other Nutrition Club operator in your organization to plan a discovery day, where you can participate in a planned tour of Nutrition Clubs; You may also participate in a training program that includes both classroomstyle training and hands-on practical experience at a Club; Ask your Sponsor or a Nutrition Club operator in your organization about a Member-led training program, attend Nutrition Club Workshops or other classroom-style training events such as a Success Training Seminar (STS), or find training resources on MyHerbalife.com. You should also decide whether to operate a Nutrition Club from a residential or nonresidential location, and carefully consider the expenses and responsibilities associated with the Nutrition Club you wish to operate. Nutrition Club Operators with Clubs located in non-residential locations, must complete the mandatory registration process. This process includes taking Nutrition Club Operator s Training and registering your Nutrition Club with Herbalife on MyHerbalife.com. See the section for Nutrition Club Operator s Training in this document for more details. 5. Who needs to register the Nutrition Club with Herbalife? All individual operators of a Nutrition Club located in non-residential locations must be registered. Only one Member, the Primary Nutrition Club Operator, should submit a Registration Form to Herbalife for each Nutrition Club location.
6. How can I promote or advertise my Nutrition Club? Advertising is limited to promoting services that are offered within the Nutrition Club, such as a wellness evaluation or nutrition presentation, and may only include the name of the Nutrition Club, the Operator s name and the phone number. Promoting the services on the exterior of the location of a Nutrition Club is not allowed. You may personally invite people to attend your Nutrition Club but you cannot advertise in any other way. 7. What can I name my Nutrition Club? The design and content of your Nutrition Club signage must not be perceived as a store, restaurant, franchise or similar operation or other retail location, and must not invite passers-by to purchase product. Signs may not use Herbalife Intellectual Property, product names or brands, the word shake, or any other words that imply or signal that Herbalife products are available at that location, such as: Nutrition Club, Herbalife, Mark Hughes, Liftoff. Other unacceptable terms are: café, restaurant, bar, mart, store, or shop. Please note, this is not a complete list, so check with your local Business Practices & Compliance department prior to opening your Nutrition Club. 8. What can I display inside my Nutrition Club? As a Nutrition Club Operator, you must display the Nutrition Club Operator Advisory and Hygiene Advisory, which are available in the Sample Forms section of Book 4 included in the HMP or can be downloaded from MyHerbalife.com. Posters and product displays are allowed inside the Nutrition Club, but the interior of the Nutrition Club must not be visible from the outside. 9. Are there any restrictions to the exterior appearance of my Nutrition Club? Nutrition Clubs are not retail establishments or restaurants, and are not intended to attract passers-by. In order to avoid potential misconceptions by the public, be sure to adhere to the following guidelines: Your Nutrition Club must use window and door coverings to ensure the interior of the Nutrition Club is not visible from the exterior. Doors must remain closed during operating hours. Exterior signs for the Nutrition Club may not be used to attract passers-by. Tables and seating outside the Nutrition Club are not allowed. Open/closed and credit card signs or other similar notices are not allowed to be displayed. 10. What products should I offer at my Nutrition Club for sampling? Products you may serve at your Nutrition Club may include the Herbal Aloe beverages, Herbal Concentrate Tea, Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix in a variety of flavors, and other optional Herbalife products. 11. What supplies do I need? Have enough blenders to prepare beverages. Ensure you have enough Herbalife products and supplies, such as non-branded disposable cups on hand to serve attendees and guests. In addition, always use purified (or boiled) water in preparing beverages. Make your Nutrition Club a comfortable setting for socializing and learning about Herbalife products. 12. Can other people participate in my Nutrition Club? Yes. You may want to team up with other Herbalife Members in your organization, so you can all participate in the operation of the Club. Remember, only Independent Herbalife Members may operate a Club.
13. How much may I charge Nutrition Club attendees? As a Nutrition Club Operator, you may charge attendance fees to cover operational premise-related costs (such as the cost of rent, utilities, and product and ingredients consumed in the operation of the Club). Attendance fees may not be represented as the price or cost of products offered for consumption nor for services you may choose to offer (such as seminars or classes). 14. What activities may I offer at my Nutrition Club? It s up to you! Some Nutrition Club operators recommend sharing product results, nutritional education, coaching sessions, tracking weight-loss goals, watching Herbalife videos, and offering physical activities or games. Remember, when sharing product experiences, the Herbalife products are not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any disease or medical condition, nor are they intended to result in weight loss without exercise or following a reduced calorie diet. Always include the appropriate disclaimer (see below) when discussing weight management in general and products in particular. Whatever the activity, be sure to make it fun, simple and magical! 15. Should a disclaimer be used for weight-loss testimonials? The following disclaimer must accompany all weight-loss claims and representations, including testimonials. If used on printed materials, the disclaimer must be placed prominently, using a font size no less than 10- point type on every page on which the claims appear: People who use Herbalife Formula 1 twice a day as part of a healthy lifestyle can generally expect to lose around half a pound to 1 pound per week. NUTRITION CLUB OPERATOR S TRAINING QUESTIONS 1. What is the Nutrition Club Operator s Training? The Nutrition Club Operator s Training is an interactive course that explains the Nutrition Club rules and Herbalife policies on claims and expenditures. At the end of the course, there is a 20-question quiz that must be passed with a score of 80% or better to receive a certificate of completion, which can be printed and displayed inside your Nutrition Club. 2. Who should take this training? Herbalife requires that all Nutrition Club operators (primary and secondary) who operate from a nonresidential location in the U.S.A. and Puerto Rico complete the Nutrition Club Operator s Training and pass the quiz, prior to opening a Nutrition Club. Herbalife also encourages the following Herbalife Members to complete the training: Club operators who operate in residential locations Nutrition Club Operator s Upline 3. Why should I take the Nutrition Club Operator s Training? Completing this training will help you be more confident about complying with Herbalife s rules and ultimately protect your business and the Herbalife brand. 4. I m a new Nutrition Club operator. When do I need to complete the training? Members may not open a Nutrition Club in a non-residential location or sign a lease for the purposes of a Nutrition Club unless they have been an Herbalife Member for at least 90 days. Also, prospective Nutrition Club operators must have completed the process required by Herbalife as to site location and proposed signage, training and other matters as outlined in the Nutrition Club Rules.
5. How long does it take to complete the training? Be prepared to spend approximately 30 minutes watching the course and completing the quiz. It may take less time depending on your knowledge of the training content. 6. What if I fail the quiz? You can repeat the training and re-take the quiz as many times as you need to pass. 7. How do I access the Nutrition Club Operator s Training course and quiz? There are three ways to access the Nutrition Club Operator s Training: 1. On MyHerbalife.com: Log in and select Business Essentials > Click the Learning Center tab > Select Nutrition Club Operator s Training. Complete the course and take the quiz, then print your certificate from the Learning Center home page. 2. On your mobile device: Download the Herbalife Learning app from the Apple or Google Play Store > Log in using your Herbalife ID and PIN > Select Nutrition Club Operator s Training. Complete the course and take the quiz, then log into the Learning Center on MyHerbalife.com to print your certificate from the Learning Center home page. 3. View the training video and complete the quiz by calling Member Services: View the training in video format on the HBN Video Library or by meeting with a Nutrition Club Ambassador or Regional Sales staff. After viewing the training video: Call 1.866.866.4744 and select your preferred language > Select 1 for the automated system, and then select the prompt for the Nutrition Club Operator s Training Quiz. Take the quiz, and then select the option to have your certificate mailed to the address you have on file. 8. If I completed the quiz over the phone, how long will it take to receive the certificate of completion? Your certificate will be mailed to you within 10 business days. 9. I took the quiz over phone but have not received my certificate. Why not? Call Member Services at (866) 866-4744 to confirm that you have successfully completed and pass the quiz. If you haven t passed the quiz, the representative may be able to direct you to the automated quiz. If you have, make sure that Herbalife has your correct mailing address on file and request the representative to mail you another certificate. 10. I live in Jamaica / Trinidad / Tobago / Canada and operate a Club in a non-residential location. Am I required to take this training? At this time, only those who operate a non-residential Club in U.S.A. and Puerto Rico are required to complete this training. However, we highly encourage all Nutrition Club operators and their upline to take the training.
11. Can I complete the course and quiz in the Learning Center from a mobile device like a smartphone or tablet? Yes, you can complete training on your smart phone and tablet. To get started, download the Herbalife Learning app from the Apple or Google Play Store > Log in using your Herbalife ID and PIN > Select Nutrition Club Operator s Training. Complete the course and take the quiz, then log into the Learning Center on MyHerbalife.com to print your certificate from the Learning Center home page. Please Note: The App is only available on IOS and Android devices. The App does not support Blackberry or Windows phones. If you do not have a smart phone or tablet, you will need to access training by visiting the Learning Center on MyHerbalife.com. 12. What software program is required to print the certificate? The certificate will open in a browser window, so you just need an internet connection. There is no need for a particular software. In your printing preferences, make sure to select the landscape (horizontal) layout. 13. Once the training is completed and passed, will I be able to save the certificate? Once training has been successfully completed, a Print Certificate icon will appear in the course menu. If this is your first time completing a course on the Learning Center, you will be prompted to write your name on the certificate. This name will be used on all other certificates moving forward. The Print Certificate option can be selected at anytime to retrieve and print your certificate of completion. 14. How can I access the training presentation if I do not have Internet access and plan to take the quiz over the phone? Our Nutrition Club Ambassadors and regional sales specialists will provide access to the training through their tablets and at events and meetings. Also, the training will be available on video or computers at our Sales Centers. 15. Does the training curriculum function best with a particular Internet browser? The Learning Center requires an updated version of one the following browsers to perform properly: Firefox 28 or above, Google Chrome 31 or above Safari 7 or above (Mac only), Internet Explorer 9 or above (Please note, you will need to be on Windows OS Vista or above in order to run IE9.) 16. I lost my certificate. How can I receive another one? If completed training on the Learning Center: Log into the Learning Center: Myherbalife.com>Tools and Training>Learning Center. Locate Nutrition Club Operator s Training in the course menu bar, and then select the Print Certificate icon in the course menu bar. If you completed the quiz by calling Member Services: Call Member Services at (866) 866-4744 to confirm that Herbalife has your correct mailing address on file and request the representative to mail you another certificate.
17. Is the certificate a proof of training? The certificate is acknowledgment of your completion of the training. However, Herbalife will only recognize completion of the training and passing of the quiz for the Member whose ID was used to log in to the Learning Center. 18. Can I use my Club name on the certificate? We recommend using your personal name on the certificate instead of your Club name. This is because you will only be prompted once to enter your name as you would like it to appear on your certificate. This name is then auto-populated on all of your certificates as you complete other courses. 19. I passed the quiz over the phone and requested a copy of my certificate by mail. Can I choose or change the name to be displayed in the certificate? No. Unfortunately if you take the quiz over the phone you won t be able to change or choose the name on the certificate. By default Herbalife will print the certificate using the name of the Member whose ID was used to take the quiz.
