Journal of Analytical Psychology, 2000, 45, 629 638 RESEARCH DIRECTORY In the April 1999 issue of the JAP, the editors announced the compilation of a new Research Directory which would focus on clinical and historical areas of research. We received a wide response to the Directory and have decided to publish a selection of entries that fall into a somewhat narrower research definition. Because the Journal is based on a tradition of empirical clinical research, we are not including this area of research as part of the directory. Instead, we would like to include the following kinds of research: quantitative treatment and outcome research; quantitative research on the nature of the profession; and other forms of quantitative research relating to clinical work and the field of analytical psychology. Qualitative research projects, including historical studies, which do not fit within the usual clinical analytic format will also be considered for the Directory. The following list comprises those who have registered and who fall within the above categories, giving details of their particular area of interest. The Journal will update this list annually. Mary Addenbrooke, BA Analyst in private practice; Director of Counsellors, Substance Misuse Services of the South Weald and Downs NHS Trust Oaks, Forest Road, Colgate, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 4SZ, UK Fax: 44 + (0) 1293 851362 mary.addenbrooke@lineone.net Recovery from drug and alcohol dependence; long-term follow up of substance misusers; analytic training; bereavement The creative potential of play and regression in analytic training.
