Madlineman Making A Difference, One Lineman at a Time About madlineman MADLINEMAN was started by former offensive guard of the Houston Texans, Fred Weary. Weary is a former University of Tennessee student-athlete with a degree in Economics, who retired from the NFL in 2010. After retiring from the NFL, Weary decided to spend his time volunteer coaching with Nolan Ryan Junior High School in Pearland, TX. During his volunteer efforts he saw a major void for our youth in athletics because of the lack of support and funding due to economic issues our society is burdened with today. His experience with the Nolan Ryan undefeated (8-0) 7 th grade football team has inspired him to want to be an asset to his community. Weary wants to assist local school districts, parents, and taxpayers responsible for insuring our student-athletes are properly educated on how to be an outstanding citizen in our society; by encouraging them to be model student-athletes on and off the field. Mission Statement MADLINEMAN is the acronym for Making A Difference, One Lineman at a Time. MADLINEMAN is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes character development, leadership skills, health/fitness, and most importantly; scholastic goal setting/achievement to deserving inner city student-athletes with socio-economic challenges in their lives. MADLINEMAN uses positionspecific instruction to teach the proper fundamentals and techniques to be successful on the football field, while mentoring our youth on what it takes to be successful in life. Why madlineman MADLINEMAN strongly believes that the majority of all football games are won or lost from the battles, in the trenches. However, in the trenches of life, we are losing the majority of the battles our youth face in inner city communities from: high drop-out rates, childhood obesity problems, and poor funding of youth, middle school, and high school athletics and sports. Throughout my Collegiate/NFL career, I have seen that some of the finest athletes come from all walks of life. As a former student-athlete and NFL lineman, I want COMPANY to communicate the importance of character development, leadership skills, health/fitness, and most importantly; scholastic goal setting/achievement. The MADLINEMAN primary initiative stems from personal experiences throughout my youth and NFL career. The MADLINEMAN provides a nurturing learning environment for offensive and defensive lineman to work on key fundamentals and techniques of the game. MADLINEMAN is committed to fostering diversity. We respect any differences in culture, age, race, ethnicity, physical ability, and religious affiliation. madlineman Testimonials Thank you so much for taking the time to travel back to Montgomery and bringing so much joy to our kids in the SEYFL. I truly heard nothing but positive feedback from our parents, coaches, and kids that participated in the camp. They truly learned a great deal from your camp. We look forward to the next one. Mandy Mann-President of SEYFL "The foundations for building boys into young men are so essential to our society. With great people like Fred Weary that are willing to give countless hours of their precious time to encourage students and helping young people succeed, our future is getting better every day!" Mike Bass-District Athletic Director The improvement my son has made on the field as a player and off the field is tremendous! Fred, your teaching of hard work and dedication on and off the field relays to everything a person will do in life. Eric Riggle-Youth Parent "He motivates and inspires youth to be successful in every aspect of their lives from the football field to the classroom through hard work, dedication and prayer." Kenneth Williams-Youth Parent Pressing on Toward the Goal Philippians 3:12-21
