Foothills Academy Society Since 1979, Foothills Academy Society, a nonprofit charitable organization, has met a growing need for direct and practical services for children and adults with Learning Disabilities and associated disorders. Foothills Academy Society strives to be a centre of excellence in both its full-time School Program and its Community Services that are available to both the school population and the wider community. School Program Foothills Academy School currently serves approximately 285 students in grades 3-12. We focus on a wide range of strategies to help students find success; ensuring students reach their full potential. The aim for our students is to go on to successful and meaningful post secondary education. We build on students strengths to enable them to become the great individuals whom they are all capable of being. Estelle Siebens Community Services Estelle Siebens Community Services at Foothills Academy assists children, youth and adults who are experiencing difficulties in their school, work, and/or home environments as a result of Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and/or social or emotional challenges. Community Services currently offers assessments & counseling; remedial tutoring; child, youth & young adult programs; camps (Camp Amicus) and year-round recreation programs; teacher & parent workshops, and advocacy to the Calgary community and beyond. Each year over 800 families and 2,000 professionals are served by Community Services. What makes us unique? As a charitable society, Foothills Academy Society takes pride in never turning a person away because of their financial situation. As a result, close to a million dollars needs to be raised each year to support families wishing to access our School and Community Services programs. The Event Join us on Friday, November 4, 2016 for the 32nd Annual Fall Funtasia. This event brings Foothills Academy s parents and staff together with friends and community supporters to raise money to support children with Learning Disabilities and ADHD. All net proceeds will be directed to the Foothills bursary fund that helps all families access the programs and services that Foothills Academy Society offers regardless of financial circumstances. This evening is the most important fundraising event on the Foothills calendar. This gala event will be held at TELUS Spark Science Centre where you will be greeted at the door, invited to walk our red carpet while you have your photo taken by our paparrazi crew. Mix and mingle with friends while you enjoy Prosecco. Happy hour will continue with our hosted bar for the first hour. Entertainment will include music, games and activities that are a tradition at Fall Funtasia including: Spin to Win, 50 Bottles of Wine for $50, and Picture This!. You will be able to view and bid on silent auction items via your own mobile device or on provided tablets. You will sit down to a delicious three-course gourmet meal provided by Charbar. A live auction will be MC d by experienced charity auctioneer Bill Brown. The evening will conclude with the drawing of the winning tickets for all our raffle draws including this year s highly anticipated parents assocciation car raffle.
