Foothills Academy Society Since 1979, Foothills Academy Society, a nonprofit charitable organization, has met a growing need for direct and practical services for children and adults with Learning Disabilities and associated disorders. Foothills Academy Society strives to be a centre of excellence in both its full-time School Program and its Community Services that are available to both the school population and the wider community. School Program Foothills Academy School currently serves approximately 285 students in grades 3-12. We focus on a wide range of strategies to help students find success; ensuring students reach their full potential. The aim for our students is to go on to successful and meaningful post secondary education. We build on students strengths to enable them to become the great individuals whom they are all capable of being. Estelle Siebens Community Services Estelle Siebens Community Services at Foothills Academy assists children, youth and adults who are experiencing difficulties in their school, work, and/or home environments as a result of Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and/or social or emotional challenges. Community Services currently offers assessments & counseling; remedial tutoring; child, youth & young adult programs; camps (Camp Amicus) and year-round recreation programs; teacher & parent workshops, and advocacy to the Calgary community and beyond. Each year over 800 families and 2,000 professionals are served by Community Services. Why Do We Fundraise? As a charitable society, Foothills Academy Society takes pride in never turning a person away because of their financial situation. As a result, close to a million dollars needs to be raised each year to support families wishing to access our School and Community Services programs. The Event Join us on Friday, November 3, 2017 for the 33rd Annual Fall Funtasia benefitting Foothills Academy Society. This event will help children and adults with Learning Disabilities and ADHD reach their full potential by helping them to access specialized programs and services. All net proceeds will be directed to the Foothills Academy Society Bursary Fund to ensure that a family s financial circumstances are not a barrier. Evening Schedule 6:00 pm Doors open Happy Hour (Hosted Bar from 6-7 pm) Entertainment, games & raffles and silent auction begins 7:30 pm Call to dinner - games and raffle sales end Seated three course dinner begins Silent auction ends Live auction featuring auctioneer Bill Brown Raffle draws take place 11:00 pm Event Ends How to Participate There are many ways to participate in Fall Funtasia. This gala event is being held at the beautiful Hotel Arts in Calgary s Beltline neighbourhood. Mix and mingle with friends while you enjoy Happy Hour with our hosted bar. Pre-dinner entertainment will include music, games and activities that are a tradition at Fall Funtasia. There will be plentiful silent auction items to bid on via your own mobile device or on provided tablets. You will then sit down to enjoy a delicious three-course gourmet meal provided by the renowned chefs of Hotel Arts. The evening will be MC d by experienced charity auctioneer Bill Brown who will also conduct the live auction. The evening will conclude with the drawing of the winning tickets for the raffles purchased earlier in the evening. Additionally, the winning ticket will be drawn for the highly anticipated car raffle conducted by our parents association. Sponsorship - A great way to promote your company s commitment to the community. As part of the sponsorship package, you will receive complimentary ticket(s) based on the level of sponsorship.
