July 10, 2018 revised Dear Prospective Sponsor: The Sickle Cell Foundation of Tennessee (SCFT) is extending sponsorship and participation opportunities to prospective organizations and individuals for the 2018 Metro Nashville Sickle Cell Awareness 3 Mile Walk event September15, at Shelby Park. This event will incorporate a special tribute to the life of SCFT s Founder/CEO Dr. Trevor K. Thompson who lost his battle to Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) in late 2016. Dr. Thompson s most fervent desire was to ensure that education and awareness about Sickle Cell Disease was raised at higher levels across middle and east Tennessee. The Metro Nashville Sickle Cell Awareness 3 Mile event will enable us to connect with SCD consumers/patients and community stakeholders in our collective efforts to raise greater awareness and advocacy for individuals and families impacted by SCD. Our last Nashville 5K event was held at Shelby Park in June 2016, and a special memorial event in honor of Dr. Thompson was held in 2017. We are excited about the September 2018 event and need your support to ensure its success. In addition to raising awareness about SCD, the event places emphasis on the importance of wellness, living a healthy lifestyle and the value of fitness and exercise. Sponsoring businesses and organizations may also present their products and services to our participants and collaborative friends during this festive occasion. We have set our goal for the 2018 Metro Nashville Sickle Cell Awareness 3 Mile Walk event of exceeding 500 participants and $50,000 in fundraising. We respectfully request your consideration/participation, for the upcoming 2018 Metro Nashville Sickle Cell Awareness 3 Mile Walk event, and will be contacting you soon to further discuss the details of the sponsorship and participation options.
