Honduras New Hope Clinic Weekly Reports, August 2015 Weekly Report August 3-7, 2015 This week we saw a total of 82 patients, 35 of whom were unable to pay because of limited financial This a 32 year old man came to see us who for almost 5 years has been in a wheel chair because of a spinal cord injury due to an automobile accident. Because of the prolonged use of the wheel chair he had developed ulcers on his buttocks. The patient is very poor so the clinic gave him a special cushion for patients who use wheel chairs. We also donated medicine and medical material to clean and heal the ulcers. Thanks to the Lord for all that has been contributed because the patient's ulcers are 70% improved. We are continuing to monitor the ulcers. This week we organized clean-up operations in the community of Los Perez and talks on dengue and chikungunya. 1 patient with asthma crisis 1 patient with probable gallbladder stones 1 patient with a foreign object in the left eye 1 patient with chronic malnutrition 1 patient with an abscess on the right breast 2 patients with hemorrhoids 3 patients with vaginal candida 1 patient with gardnerella 1 patient with bronchitis 1 patient with hemorrhaging in the conjunctiva of the right eye 2 patients with asthma 2 patients with sinusitis 1 patient with eczema with impetigo 1 patient with allergic conjunctivitis 1 patient with bronchial asthma 2 patients with scabies 1 patient for ear irrigation because of wax 1 patient with bleeding from the uterus 2 patients for catheter changes 3 patients with inner ear infections 1 patient with trichomonas 5 cases of gastritis 2 patients with throat infections 3 patients with irritable colon problems 1 patient with cellulitis on the right foot 1 patient with cellulitis from a dog bite 4 patients with gastroenteritis 2 patients with allergic conjunctivitis 2 patients with back pain 1 patient with dysmenorrhea 2 patients with prostatitis 1 patient for replacement of IUD

We sent her to the eye hospital in Tegucigalpa because apparently she had a detached retina. The patient was admitted and was operated on for the detached retina and is recuperating at home. But the problem is that her illness is not controlled very well because of limited financial resources and sometimes in the public hospital there is no insulin and she has to purchase it. We talked to the family members and I told them that the clinic can help her to get the insulin when she doesn't have any. The clinic got a 6 month supply for her. The family and the patient are very grateful for this help. 1 patient with probable detached retina 1 patient with apparent ovarian cyst 1 patient with probable kidney stones 1 patient with a foreign object in the left eye 2 patients for hemorrhoid control 5 patients recalled for Pap smear results and treatment 3 patients with throat infections apparently of viral type 2 patients with Gardnerella 2 patients with bronchitis 2 patients with rhinitis

The young man was cutting wood when unfortunately when striking the wood, he struck one of the sides of the piece and the hatchet slipped and he was hit on the foot.
When he entered the emergency room his vital signs were not normal because of the abundant blood loss from the wound. It was a large wound and there was evident fracture of the bones in the foot. We had to clean, bind and stabilize the foot in order to transport him to Tegucigalpa. At the Hospital Escuela he was operated on and is now in physical therapy and in good health. This week we gave dental hygiene talks and Dr. Juan Velasquez assited me with these. 1 patient with a wound on the right foot 1 patient for menstrual pain 3 patients with muscle pain because of fatigue 3 patients with signs and symptoms of light pneumonia 1 patient with type (A) hepatitis as shown by lab results 1 patient with prolapsed uterus 2 patients with delayed menstruation due to pregnancy 1 patient for replacement of IUD 2 patients diagnosed for Helicobacter Pylori 2 patients with acne problems 1 patient with signs and symptoms of rheumatic fever 2 patients with halitosis 2 patients with allergic conjunctivitis 4 common colds 4 patients for minor surgery 2 patients with seborrhea dermatitis 4 cases of asthma control 1 patient for suture removal 2 patients recalled for Pap smear results and treatment 3 patients with sinusitis 1 patient for cleaning of an infected wound 2 patients with anemia as shown by lab exam 2 patients for control of irritable colon problems 1 patient for treating of a chronic ulcer on the right leg 1 patient with a dental abscess 4 patients for diarrhea syndrome and moderate dehydration 3 prenatal visits 2 Pap smears 7 patients for hypertension control 7 patients for diabetes control 3 cases of classic dengue 2 patients for urinary infections 1 patient with problems of venous circulation 3 patients with problem of high cholesterol and triglycerides In Christ, Dr. Davila This week I saw a total of 25 Patients, 7 of whom were unable to pay because of limited financial

When she came to the clinic the patients was complaining of strong pain in the abdominal region predominately in the area where the gallbladder is located. The patient had had this pain on other occasions but of a lesser intensity. Because of this they had done an abdominal ultrasound and diagnosed gall stones. The patient had not wanted an operation and preferred to wait. This time, on entering the hospital, the surgery was done and she is recuperating well.
