Specialised frame helps man to stand again A 1,000 grant from Barchester s Charitable Foundation has helped fund a new standing frame for a man living with cerebral palsy, which has had a dramatic effect on his health. David Cook, aged 28, who lives in Alvechurch, was suffering with increasing health problems because it was very difficult for him to get up from his chair, but since the purchase of a specialised standing frame, David s father says these problems have been quickly disappearing. Being able to stand strengthens David s muscles and improves circulation, helping to alleviate many of the problems he was experiencing before. It is making it easier for him to continue living independently, with support from live-in carers. Residents & Relatives Surveys The residents and relatives survey give residents and their family members the chance to give us feedback about the care you or your loved one receives. Your opinion really matters to us and it allows Barchester to make any necessary changes to our services so that we can continue to deliver the highest possible standard of care. Thank you to everyone who has completed the residents survey or who has assisted someone with filling it out. All surveys will need to be completed and sent back to us by the end of October. The relatives survey will be sent out in September.
