There s also funding opportunities.. We commision research through projects and shared programmes Project # funded 2015/16 FY

We are developing a strategy To create increased engagement and collaboration with charities in the health and care space to improve patient benefit The aim is to synergise our investment in health Alignment of shared mission to improve patient benefit National agenda to support wider research capability Support translational pull through of charity research into NIHR More aligned/relevant science for the same money - reducing public funded duplication Capacity development to get more researchers into NIHR funded activity Direct leverage is possible

We ve asked what you know about us And it isn t much. We have to date regarded this as a relationship between our BRC and you We need to be led by the priority activities of the... Trust, so sure it is for the Trust to be the primary partner with the NIHR? Or am I missing something?

There s hope that you want to engage with us...

What are we curious about? How is your Trust demonstrating its research and innovation? (to be a CQC requirement). This may influence some of you How closely do you support your NHS Trust strategy? For those independent of a Trust, how are you organising your research strategy? Can we support that? We are just beginning to formulate a research strategy which is likely to be rolled out in the new year and we are starting to understand the need to sign up to the Assn of Medical Research Charities as the starting point for becoming part of the connected networks of research. Alongside that we are open to hearing how we can align funding pathways for grant recipients with later funding opportunities, potentially through NIHR and others.
