Color selection - Effect colors Effect colors: DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ light pink DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ dark pink DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ light grey DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ dark grey DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ light brown DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ dark brown The DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ Effect colors can be used in undiluted form for individualization. The addition of DD Bio ZX² monolith zero value+ Effect liquid into DD Bio ZX² monolith zero Dentin colors lead you to a change of the color basic shades. When using value+ together with dentin dyes, you should always add a defined quantity to a total unit (50 ml or 100 ml) of the dentin dye. Only this ensures consistent, reproductible color results. Pigmentation of the color liquids All colors are provided with a special pigmentation in order to simplify the coloring construction for the user. Dentine: Incisal: Effect light pink: Effect brown: Effect grey: red yellow orange turquoise grey-violet 7 von 19
Coloring Shake well before use! It is recommended to use DD Color Box for a simplified liquid use. Hold the DD Color box closed when not in use.this prevents contamination of DD Bio ZX² zero liquids. We recommend to use the tight lidded original container for storage. We recommend using plastic instruments to avoid metal residues on the restorations. 8 von 19
1. Coloring by dipping Incisal dyes Incisal SO The Incisal dye can be applied with an applicator such as e.g. snowflake or paint brush. It should be ensured that the applicator is moderately wetted in order to prevent any running off of a larger volume of liquid over the construction. The liquid should be applied through a two to threefold application in the upper cusp or incisal edge area. The incisal dyes prevent an intensive infiltration with dentin dye. It should be dipped directly after the application of the incisal dye. When dipping, there is a comingling of dentin dye and incisal dye, which creates a transition between both areas. However, excessively generous application of the incisal dye leads to the lightening of the dentin dye overall. 9 von 19
1. Coloring by dipping Dentin dyes For dipping the construction, it is recommended to use the DD Color Box. When using less than 100 ml liquid, the necessary dipping volume can easily be reached by tilting the box. The construction is placed carefully into the sieve insert of the box. It should be ensured that the construction is completely covered with dentin dye. After the end of the dipping time, the construction can easily be lifted from the DD Color Box with the help of the sieve insert. Carefully dab excess liquid (especially inside the crown and in the occlusal area) with an absorbent cloth or blow this off with pressurised air. Store dyed construction on a non-absorbent underlay! 10 von 19
2. Coloring by painting 1. Dentin 2. Incisal 3. Individualization by Effect colors Incisal SA/ SC Dark Brown Light Grey With regard to the painting technique, the dye is gradually applied to the construction. A basic approach is shown schematically in the illustrations and serves as a guideline. Monolithic constructions can be individualized through the use of various (effect-) dyes and/or dentin and incisal dyes mixed with these. Accurately wash and dry the brush before using a new color. 11 von 19
2. Coloring by painting 4. Dentin Massive pontics To obtain an optimal dyeing result, the inside walls of crowns must finally be dyed with dentin liquid. The dyeing solution should be applied several times for this in order to infiltrate completely into the material. Store dyed construction on a non-absorbent underlay! With massive pontics, the frequency of the application of dye should be increased. This also applies to crowns, partial crowns and caps with thick wall strength. 12 von 19
Drying Drying For pre-drying of zirconia construction we recommend the use of a small household oven which includes convection and a time clock, because unlike other pre-drying methods a uniform heat distribution is guaranteed. Only use this oven for drying zirconium construction and never for food preparation. Place your restoration on a ceramic underlay in the oven in such a way that they can be "washed around" by the circulating air. To achieve homogenous colors it is necessary to dry restorations directly after coloring. It is recommended to dry crowns and bridges on the occlusal surface in order to obtain an even dyeing result. 13 von 19
Sintering Sinter after recommended sintering instruction DD Bio Z / DD Bio ZX²/ DD cubex² For optimum color results: final temperature:1450 C holding time: 2 h For increased light transmission: final temperature:1550 C holding time: 2 h Brighter color results at elevated sintering temperature! 14 von 19
Finishing - monolithic restorations Polishing monolithic restorations Crown after sintering Pre-polishing with a white lens Polishing finish with brush and polishing paste approx. 5000 U/min The occlusal surface of monolithic constructions must always be polished very carefully to a high gloss. Use rotary instruments at a speed of approx. 10.000 rqm. Deep grooves and harsh surfaces can cause excessive abrasion of the opposing teeth and need to be avoid. 15 von 19
Finishing - monolithic restorations Alternative techniques with DD Nature Zr Glazing: Instead of polishing as described, the restauration can be finalized by glaze with glaze firing. Please consult us and note current studies about abrasion of the natural antagonist. Painting: The sintered restoration can be individualized by using appropriate stains. Cut Back: For maximized esthetic values it is possible to build up the reduced (cutback) fullanatomical construction with incisal ceramic powders. 16 von 19
Finishing - Ceramic Veneering For veneering sintered restorations we recommend DD Nature Zr, a veneering porcelain which is optically and technically perfectly attuned to zirconia (Y-TZP) frameworks 17 von 19
Finished crown A3 A3 In case of very thin wall thicknesses the color may appear brighter. It is important for the dentist to use a appropriate mounting material. Fixing: It is advisable to use translucent, polymer modified, self-adhesive or composed cements. 18 von 19
