Autism Support of Kent County Walk For Autism Awareness Sunday, April 28, 2013 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. Kuyper College 3333 E. Beltline, Grand Rapids, MI 49525 The event will be held Rain or Shine! Welcome to our 3rd annual Walk for Autism Awareness. This event is a forum for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), families, friends and our community to unite in an effort to direct public attention to how ASD affects our lives, and promote understanding and acceptance through education and communication. We will have a Resource Fair, which provides an excellent opportunity for families to meet with Service Providers and Exhibitors specializing in a wide range of services, programs and resources offered in our area. There will be activities for all ages, live music, a Silent Auction and an Art Gallery showcasing artwork by local artists with ASD. Autism Support of Kent County is committed to raising public awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder and helping to educate and empower our families. Schedule of activities: Registration is at 12:00 noon. The Resource Fair will be held during our entire event 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. The Walk will commence at 1:00 p.m. Thank you for your support. Signup Form If you are participating in the Walk, this form must be completed. Our Walk for Autism Awareness is a non-competitive 2.5 K walk around the peaceful campus of Kuyper College, uniting families and community in an effort to build awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Let s talk about it!. We invite you to reach out to your children's classmates and their families, teachers, neighbors, doctors and staff, church members, and all others who make up our great community, in a joint effort to promote awareness, understanding and acceptance. There is no cost to participate in the Walk. Walkers are encouraged to collect pledges. All monies raised through pledges will help to fund the programs and services offered by Autism Support of Kent County. Walk t-shirts will be available for purchase. Cost is $15 for each adult t-shirt and $10 for each child t-shirt. T-shirts will also be awarded to those walkers collecting pledges (see pledge sheet for more details). WALK FOR AUTISM AWARENESS DONATION FORM Autism Support of Kent County (ASK) will hold a Walk for Autism Awareness on Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. at Kuyper College, 3333 East Beltline Avenue, Grand Rapids. ASK is seeking donations from members, friends and local businesses. Donor information will be listed in the Walk program and in our bi-monthly newsletter, The Voice. Donations of products and services will be given to our walkers/attendees and offered in a silent auction during the event. Monetary donations will be used to buy products and services for use during the Walk such as food, beverages, entertainment, etc. Your monetary donation and/or donation of any product and/or service for use during the Walk would be greatly appreciated. Walk for Autism Awareness Sunday, April 28, 2013 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. Kuyper College 3333 E. Beltline, Grand Rapids, MI 49525 You are invited to attend our one-day Art Gallery. Our Art Gallery will showcase the creative self-expression of local artists living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We welcome individuals of all ages to submit works of art for display or for donation to our Silent Auction, which will also be held during our Walk (from 12 noon until 3pm). Joint projects submitted by students in ASD classrooms are also welcome! Artists may submit artwork no later than Monday, April 22 (a maximum of 3 pieces may be submitted). The artwork will be displayed at our gallery at Kuyper College during the day of our Walk. The artwork can be drawings or paintings of any medium (crayon, marker, acrylic/oil paint, colored pencil, charcoal or pen) and must be framed, mounted or have some form of border around the work. Three-dimensional work will also now be accepted. Dimensions may not exceed 4 x 4. Please indicate if you have an easel or if you need ASK to provide one.
