LEADERSHIP STOCKTON ALUMNI ASSOCI ATION 2018/19 LEADERSHIP STOCKTON ALUMNI ASSOC. NEWSLETTER Letter from Outgoing President Chris Kay Thank you to everyone that helped the Leadership Stockton Alumni Association this past year! Thanks to this continued participation, LSAA continues to follow its mission to support Leadership Stockton and cultivate relationships amongst alumni. Thank you to those who became members this year! Your membership dues are the lifeblood of the organization, and we would have no LSAA without alumni to support it. In contributions large and small, thank you. Thank you to those who sponsored and attended our Community Leadership Breakfast! With a topic of Stockton in the Global Economy, the featured presenters of the Port of Stockton, Union Pacific, and Cal Cedar/Blackwing showed Stockton s role in global trade around the world. Thank you to those who came out to the mixers. In August, LSAA welcomed a brand new class with a mixer hosted at Valley Brew, where they had a chance to meet our great alumni base. In December, LSAA celebrated its 20th anniversary with a mixer at Papapavlo s. As is tradition, toys were collected to donate to the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless. Thank you to the Leadership Stockton Class of 2017/2018. Raising well over $40,000 dollars, they took on two projects involving the Stockton Children s Museum and the Podesto Teen Center. These highly visible, highly impactful projects included painting the toy soldiers in front of the Children s Museum, and fixing the bowling lanes, adding computers, and fixing the concession stand at the Teen Center. Their hard work, dedication, and fundraising will have a lasting impact on the community for years to come. Finally, I would like to thank the Board of LSAA for their hard work and support this year. I have been very privileged to work with such an amazing group of people. A major benefit of LSAA is getting to work with both professional and personal leaders, and our community is a better place with their support towards a positive movement. LSAA is in great hands with incoming President Toby Farnsworth, Vice President Karen Amestoy, Treasurer Stephanie Banuelos, and Secretary Rames Creel leading the way, and we all look forward to your continued support this coming year!
