At PANDA we re used to having open, honest conversations for many parents feeling overwhelmed, isolated or ashamed can feel too much and on PANDA s National Helpline we hear from people every day who are struggling with their emotional health and even thinking of harming themselves or their baby. These thoughts are not uncommon for new mums and are signs that help is needed. We know help is available and PANDA provides a caring first step towards recovery. Perinatal anxiety and depression does not discriminate it affects people across the community regardless of age, income or geography. Without the support of PANDA, I don t think I would have made it. ABOUT PANDA PANDA supports families strugging with perinatal anxiety and depression, assisting them in their recovery. A national not-for-profit organisation, PANDA is passionate about raising awareness of perinatal anxiety and depression, reducing stigma and encouraging early intervention to minimise the impact of these illnesses. We believe perinatal anxiety and depression is a journey no one should go through alone. Any funds raised support PANDA and our vital work in the following areas: RESOURCES & INFORMATION Giving everyone the opportunity to be informed - new mums and dads as well as the broader community. COMMUNITY EDUCATION Increasing awareness so that families can seek help early. IMPROVING CARE Working with and providing the latest, evidence-based perinatal anxiety and depression information to doctors, health professionals, families and the broader community. ADVOCATING FOR EARLY DETECTION Providing support and resources to address early detection. We have a long way to go to ensure Governments and Health Services across Australia are effectively addressing the need for early detection of perinatal anxiety and depression. One call to PANDA and my life was forever changed...for the first time I felt free toshare how I was feeling

Or pehaps you have an annual event, (morning tea, trivia night, sports event, cake stall, raffle, golf day) in your club or workplace that gives to a different charity each year? We would love you to consider donating to PANDA. ESTABLISHED EVENT There are lots of great established events already taking place right around Australia. I didn t know what to expect from making that call but I m very happy that I did. - Amy, VIC. Amy used our National Helpline to help her and now she s helping us. Amy chose to fundraise for PANDA by participating in the Port Macquarie Ironman event.

PANDA S signature fundraising event WHAT IS LUNCH OUT LOUD? Lunch Out Loud is an initiative by PANDA to raise awareness and funds for the ongoing support and education of the community regarding perinatal anxiety and depression. PANDA asks supporters and individuals to organise lunch, brunch, morning tea or a catch up so people can have a real conversation with each other to talk Out Loud about perinatal anxiety and depression (if they are happy to share their story) or alternatively just enjoy a conversation with friends or colleagues over lunch about the joys and the challanges of parenthood. Funds raised are then donated to PANDA. We would love people to spread the word to understand how common it is to experience perinatal anxiety and depression so they can recognise it quickly and get help. WHEN CAN I HOLD A LUNCH OUT LOUD? You can hold a Lunch Out Loud event any time throughout the year. October and November are the key times as Lunch Out Loud is designed to coincide with Perinatal Depression and Anxiety Awareness Week in November. HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? Visit panda.org.au/ panda-events/lunch-out-loud for more information and download your Guide to Lunching Out Loud. PANDA also has a range of decorations, invitations, posters, local media release and factsheets online that can be printed and used by you. YOUR GUIDE TO LUNCHING OUT LOUD AVAILABLE ONLINE

Some of the women had not heard of PANDA before so it was great to raise awareness about how amazing PANDA is. Thank you! Josie, raised $700 through organising a Lunch Out Loud event to support PANDA and raise awareness amongst her own friends and family.
