W E B B O R T H O D O N T I C S Spring Newsletter Spring 2013 Schulman Study Group Member-Top 1% of all Orthodontic Practices in the Nation In January 2013, Webb Orthodontics was given the distinguished honor of being inducted into the Schulman Study Group. Membership to the Schulman Study Group is extended exclusively by invitation to sustain the same high standards and offers participants access to new technology and opportunities for innovation and insight that they would not otherwise find. The Schulman Study Group is an association of nationally prominent orthodontic practices among the top 1% of all orthodontic practices. This is such an amazing honor and we are proud to be a part of their group! As part of our first year, Dr. Webb, Kim and Heather will be attending their Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona in September. We look forward to them bringing back lots of awesome ideas to help improve our practice for our patients! Contest Winners Our previous contest was a challenge to all of the young kids in our area to write an essay about their favorite teacher! This year was another huge success. We received so many essays it was hard to pick. The student with the winning essay was given a $100 gift card to Target and the winning teacher was given an ipad mini! Our winning student was Kelsy Wood from Hemingford High School and the winning teacher was Kay Horstman, who was a former patient of ours! Stay Tuned for our SUMMER contest This summer we want you to take Super Sami on all of your fun adventures! She wants to travel with you and see all the places, people and things you will see! Details will follow in our office, on Facebook and on our website! Happy Summer!

Bone Collector-Nick Mundt We were happy to bring the Co -Host of Outdoor Channel s Bone Collector to our office in March! We had such a wonderful turnout and gave away many wonderful treats! Nick Mundt went to school with Dr. Jason and Dr. Sami and he was kind enough to come hang out and talk to us about all of his hunting adventures! Platte Valley Dental Meet our new Teammate We are thrilled to be welcoming a new friend and teammate to our office this month! Britany is originally from Mitchell, Nebraska and graduated from Burns High School. Britany has been working as a dental assistant in Cheyenne for the last two years. This is her first orthodontic experience! Britany now lives in Gering, Nebraska and enjoys barrel racing and spending time with family and friends. We are looking forward to having her as a part of our team for a long time! Britany Page 2 S PR I NG NEWS LE TT ER

Hall of Fame We honor a new Hall of Fame patient every two months! They are awarded for being on time to appointments, having good oral hygiene and being compliant! The Hall of Fame winners receive pizza parties for their class at school and their picture in the paper of their choice. We honor a Hall of Fame patient at each of our Scottsbluff and Alliance offices. We are happy to announce that our most recent Hall of Famers are: Sierra F., Mary B. and Sierra B. Congratulations and we hope you and your class enjoyed your pizza parties!!! 2013 Team Ashtyn Twilight Run/Walk Make sure to check out the last page of the newsletter for Dr. Webb s special letter to the community and our patients!! We had the pleasure of being a part of such a wonderful cause in the Team Ashtyn Twilight Walk/ Run in April. They had such an amazing turnout! The event this year was at dusk and the path was lit with glow sticks! We all received glow necklaces and glow bracelets to wear during the event! Dr. Webb, Amy, Ashby and Britni took part in the race! We had a blast and cannot wait until next year! Page 3

Donation to Lincoln Elementary In March, Webb Eyecare and Webb Orthodontics joined to contribute to an area school. Lincoln Elementary will be putting in a turf playground and Webb Eyecare and Webb Orthodontics made a $5,000 contribution to the fund. Webb Orthodontics is proud to have opportunities like this to support and benefit our local schools! Pitter Patter of Little Feet We have some new and exciting changes coming soon to the office. Britni, our New Patient Coordinator and Ashby, our Treatment Coordinator are both expecting new little bundles of joy in August. Britni and her husband Eric will be welcoming home their third child, a little boy! Ashby and her husband are expecting their first child, a little girl. Because of these changes, we will be moving our staff around to accommodate the temporary absences of these two team members! Heather, who you normally see in the back as an Orthodontic Technician is transitioning to an additional Treatment Coordinator. She will continue this roll permanently! We are excited to have her in this new position and think she will be wonderful! Britany, our newest team member will be filling Heather s shoes. Kim, our Office Coordinator, will be playing many different roles and filling in all over the office! Adopt A-School We had our end of the year Adopt-A- School banquet in March, capping off our year with Minatare Schools. We still have one final event we will be helping out with at the Minatare Schools. We will be providing water and Gatorade and helping with the end of the year field day in May. We enjoy being a part of this organization and working closely with all the kids in the area schools! We are so thankful to have such wonderful staff that are willing to move around and try new things when needed! We hope you enjoy the changes just as much as we do. We will feel like this will be a wonderful change for our patients and our office! Britni and Amy at the Adopt- A-School banquet. Page 4

From the Desk of Dr. Sami Webb To my patients and my community, I normally would do a note in this newsletter on orthodontic education, but I feel an overwhelming desire to share my feelings of gratitude and pride. As I look at the graduation announcements coming in, all the kids in the newspapers as the school year comes to a close, I can t help but be thankful and proud of the kids in our community that have touched my life. Becoming an Orthodontist is not an easy road as I spent eleven years in college and had to be at the very top of my class at all times. This meant no sleep, studying when others were out playing, etc. However, I knew the reasons I was driven to do orthodontics and there isn t a day that passes that I am not thankful I chose this path. I am reminded of how much I love my job when I see the smiles I have played a part in over the years. Each day I am in my office, I have the opportunity to be a part of a child s life and I am thankful to those parents who have trusted the care of their child to me over the years. I am constantly reminded of the smiles we have created over time when I attend a local event, see photos in the newspaper, or when a parent stops to show me a photo of their child s beautiful smile (which just happened today and almost made me cry). These are the moments I feel so blessed and honored and are the moments that give me a purpose in life. There have been amazing kids come through our office and each day my team and I get to enjoy them for a short time, laugh with them, learn from them and make them feel special. I wouldn t trade this for the world! So thank you to all of you who have supported our office, trusted the care of your child to us, referred your friends and family, and have been a part of our life. I feel so blessed!!! I love this community and the people in it and will continue to create the most beautiful smiles possible. (I always told myself I wouldn t get old and sentimental but I guess I blew it) Dr. Webb Retention Reminder: We will send you a postcard when you have reached the end of your 2 years of retention with us. We are happy to see after this time, if any problems arise, however, there will be a charge for repairing or replacing a retainer and a charge for the office visit. Thanks! www.webbortho.com www.facebook.com/webbortho
