Kinesiology Qualification Summary
Diploma of Clinical Kinesiology Qualification Description This qualification reflects the role of kinesiologists, who provide kinesiology balances to address a broad range of health and wellbeing issues. Practitioners are usually self-employed but may work within a larger health service. To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 200 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. Timeframe & Enrolment Conditions The courses run at the College are designed to fit into busy lifestyles. Classes are held during the day, in the evenings or on weekends. The Kinesiology training program takes a minimum of 18 months and a maximum of 3 years to complete. To enrol in the this professional training program you are required to make an appointment with the College Principal, where your application for enrolment and training options will be discussed. Face to Face and Online Study Options Our practical courses i.e. Kinesiology specialist modules are always face to face. We need to ensure your techniques are correct for both your and clients sakes. We want you to be able to Kinesiology for a hundred years if you want to and have thousands of clients and that is why you will always have a real trainer with you when learning your techniques and skills. We also have online options for Anatomy and Physiology and practise management modules. We recommend you enrol in the classes run at the College whenever possible. We acknowledge that some students have difficulty making these times due to travel distance or other restraints. Teachers are assigned to assist you with your study program and provide feedback on receipt of the work you complete on each lesson. You have a maximum of three months to complete each online course.. A $100 fee applies If you transfer to from attending a class to correspondence or vice versa. Enrolment Conditions Om Shanti College applies the following policy in assessing eligibility for credits and refunds: In the event of a course being cancelled by Om Shanti College you will be issued in full a refund of all fees paid in respect of that course. Where the student decides to withdraw from a course no refund, transfer or credit will be granted after fees have been paid. Non-attendance of a course or any part of a course, once a student has enrolled will not warrant a refund or credit. In the event of a student being unable to commence a course due to sickness or personal crisis, consideration will be given to a refund or credit. In this instance you must complete a Credit/Refund Application Form and attach relevant documentary
evidence. Any credit or refund is subject to an administration fee. Consideration for a credit or refund of fees is at the absolute discretion of the College Directors. Om Shanti College reserves the right to alter the timetable for our courses at any time, either before or during the term. Under no circumstances will the College accept any responsibility, financial or otherwise, for changes in personal circumstances or work commitments which may occur after enrolment on a course.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) What is RPL RPL is a form of assessment that acknowledges skills and knowledge gained through: Formal training conducted by industry or education Work experience Life experience The main principle of RPL focuses on the outcomes rather than when or where the learning occurred. Evidence of competency is collected by the applicant and submitted to the nominated assessor and assessment is made based on the required industry standard within the relevant training package unit of competency. OSC is committed to providing up to date and relevant RPL information to all students during enrolment and whilst enrolled. OSC staff will provide support and guidance regarding RPL enquiries. All applicants for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be provided with a copy of the relevant unit of competency and evidence requirements for the units being applied for. Applicants who are able to provide satisfactory evidence that they have achieved the required unit of competency or competencies may progress through the course with an exemption for the RPL units. RPL Application Procedures Students must first fill in an RPL application form and return to OSC reception with the required RPL Fee On receipt of a completed RPL application form OSC Administration will issue a receipt for the RPL fee and provide the student with an RPL Evidence Guide related to the Units of Competency or Qualification sought by the RPL Applicant. Training Staff will monitor the student s progress in order to provide ongoing advice or assistance in the collection of competency evidence. Once a student has completed the collection of their competency evidence they should submit the RPL evidence to OSC administration for assessment. Should insufficient evidence be provided further guidance may be provided by training staff or a scheduled assessment event may be negotiated where observation of the competency in a number of contexts may be conducted? All competency decisions shall be recorded with assessment advice and or statements of attainment or qualifications being issued as soon as practicable.
