Oxivir Cleaner Disinfectants The Science of Compliance

Introducing Oxivir Cleaner Disinfectants The shortest distance between Over 1.7 million Healthcare Acquired Infections occur every year. Cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces is critical to reducing the incidence of Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAIs). HAIs are a growing problem in North America with over 1.7 million occurring every year, resulting in 99,000 deaths and costing the healthcare industry over $20 billion. One person dies every six minutes from an HAI. (The Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), 2010.) Government regulators and insurers are looking more closely at healthcare infections and making reimbursement decisions, which affect a facility s bottom line, based on whether the infection was contracted while a patient was at the facility. The challenge for a healthcare facility is to adopt an environmental sanitation program including products, protocols (processes/ procedures) and equipment that ensures compliance in an increasingly complex, fast-paced environment. Maintaining compliance means that disinfectants are used according to label directions. Using Oxivir cleaner disinfectants adds confidence that the product is being used in compliance with label directions and breaking the chain of infection. Awareness of the need for proper environmental sanitation is rising in schools, colleges, universities, health clubs, and fitness centers. Pathogens usually associated with healthcare facilities, such as MRSA, are now being seen more widely in these non-healthcare facilities. Today all facilities need an effective environmental sanitation program to prevent infections. Chain of Infection HAIs are a growing problem in North America with over 1.7 million occurring every year, resulting in 99,000 deaths and costing the healthcare industry over $20 billion.

disinfection and compliance. Oxivir cleaner disinfectants help prevent HAIs. A key part of an effective environmental sanitation program is disinfection. Other disinfectants may fall short in one of the four key areas: cleaning ability, surface safety or environmental concerns. AHP technology, which uses hydrogen peroxide as its active ingredient, was developed to meet concerns in these four key areas. AHP technology is a patented technology that is a synergistic blend of commonly used cleaning ingredients and hydrogen peroxide, which provides better cleaning on hard surfaces. For example, Oxivir Tb, contains 0.5% hydrogen peroxide and needs only 1 minute to kill Poliovirus Type 1*. Staff and Patient Friendly The comfort, safety and well being of staff and patients are always a concern. Oxivir cleaner disinfectants are developed with this in mind. At use dilution, the HMIS ratings are all zero s. HMIS/NFPA Hazard Rating (Oxivir Tb, Oxivir Five 16 Concentrate, Oxivir Tb Wipes at dilution) AHP technology is a patented technology that is a synergistic blend of commonly used cleaning ingredients and hydrogen peroxide, which provides better cleaning on hard surfaces. Health = 0 Flammability = 0 Reactivity = 0 Pleasant to use No strong chemical odors. Environmentally responsible The hydrogen peroxide (active ingredient) breaks down into oxygen and water. Non-corrosive At dilution, these formulas are safe on most environmental hard surfaces. * Kline, L.B., and Hull, R.N. 1960. The virucidal properties of peracetic acid. Am. J. Clin. Oxivir Tb and Oxivir Tb Wipes Oxivir Tb is a Ready-to-Use broad-spectrum hospital-grade disinfectant that disinfects hard, non-porous surfaces in just 60 seconds. Oxivir Tb Wipes are Convenient-to-Use broad-spectrum, hospital-grade disinfectant wipes that disinfect hard, non-porous surfaces in just 60 seconds. Both products kill a wide variety of organisms of concern including Norovirus, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and the drug resistant organisms MRSA and VRE. Tb has a 5 minute contact time. The 60-second contact time and broad-spectrum activity means that infection control professionals can be confident that they can use the disinfectant properly. In addition to their efficacy, Oxivir Tb and Oxivir Tb Wipes have an excellent environmental profile. Both products are essentially non-irritating to eyes and skin. Key Benefits of Oxivir Tb and Oxivir Tb Wipes: Realistic 60-second contact time increases the likelihood of proper usage. Kills Norovirus, MRSA and VRE. Regular use helps reduce costs associated with HAIs, including extended hospital stays and treatment. Oxivir Tb can be used with microfiber cleaning tools with no loss of active ingredients. Non-corrosive formula is safe on most healthcare hard, nonporous surfaces. Meets bloodborne pathogen standards for decontaminating blood and body fluids. For sale in the U.S.A. and Canada. EPA Reg. Oxivir Five 16 Concentrate Disinfects in ½ the time of traditional disinfectants* Oxivir Five 16 Concentrate is a brand new Hydrogen Peroxide-based broad-spectrum hospital-grade disinfectant that dilutes at a ratio of 1:16 and disinfects hard, non-porous surfaces in 5 minutes.** Oxivir Five 16 Concentrate kills a wide variety of organisms of concern including Norovirus, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Canine parvovirus, Avian influenza and the drug resistant organisms MRSA, MRSE and VRE. When compared to other dilutable disinfectants with 10 minute contact times, this product disinfects in half the time, which means that healthcare professionals can be confident that they are using their disinfectant properly. In addition to its efficacy, Oxivir Five 16 Concentrate has an excellent environmental profile. It is also essentially non-irritating to eyes and skin at use dilution. EPA Reg. No. 70627-58 Health Canada DIN No. 02332965 Key Benefits of Oxivir Five 16 Concentrate Dilutable disinfectant with 5 minute contact time increases the likelihood of proper usage. Kills Norovirus and Canine parvovirus at standard 1:16 disinfection use dilution. Regular use helps reduce costs associated with HAIs, including extended hospital stays and treatment. Can be used with microfiber cleaning tools. Non-corrosive formula is safe on most healthcare hard nonporous surfaces. Meets bloodborne pathogen standards for decontaminating blood and body fluids. Available in closed loop dispensing for cost control and bulk packaging for mobility/flexibility. 1:16 1:64 1:128 1:16 5 Min 5 Min 3 Min 10 Min DISINFECTANT VIRUCIDE NON-FOOD CONTACT SANITIZER FUNGICIDAL AND MILDEWCIDAL * Many disinfectants require a 10-minute contact time to disinfect hard surfaces.
