Medallion 4.0 replaces the Medicaid health plan known before as Medallion 3.0. The new program covers Virginia s Medicaid and Family Access to Medical Insurance Security Plan (FAMIS) members. It provides: Acute and primary health care services. Prescription drug coverage. Behavioral health services. Medallion 4.0 will launch in the Tidewater region on August 1, 2018. It will be rolled out across six regions. Each month a new region will go live until all of Virginia is complete by the end of the year. How will I know which health plan I m enrolled in? The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) will assign you to a health plan. You will get a letter in the mail that tells you the name of your health plan. If you ve been put in a different health plan and would like to enroll with MCC of VA, use the Medallion 4.0 helpline. Just call 1-800-643-2273 (TTY 1-800-817-6608), Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Or change your health plan online at www.virginiamanagedcare.com. You have the right to enroll in the plan of your choice. After you ve signed up with us, we ll send you your ID card and other information to welcome you to our plan. BENEFITS & SERVICES Which ID card should I use to get services? You can still use the plastic Medicaid ID card the state gave you. But you ll also need to use your new Medallion 4.0 ID card with it. You will get this card from MCC of VA or another health plan. Will my benefits change? Members of Medallion 4.0 come to the program from many different health plans, state programs and insurance companies. When you sign up with MCC of VA, we ll work with you to explain any benefit changes. And we ll help you get the care and services you need. What enhanced benefits does MCC of VA offer? We offer extra benefits that go beyond the standard offerings. These include: Smart phone for health reminders and text messages. Included are 350 free minutes and 1 GB of data each month. Up to $1500 in routine and preventive dental coverage for adults. We ll cover one cleaning and oral exam every six months, one x-ray every year and treatment for gum disease. Up to $150 for contact lenses or eyeglasses every two years for adults. Digital therapy tools and education to help with emotional challenges. Clickotine interactive, customizable app to help you quit smoking. Home-delivered meals after you leave a hospital. Gift cards for doing healthy things like getting a physical each year. What benefits does MCC of VA offer pregnant women? We offer programs for moms-to-be to help you deliver a healthy baby. We ll teach you about early prenatal care and what to do if you think you may be pregnant. You ll also get health tips for each stage of your pregnancy from us through Text4Baby. These text messages will tell you what to expect and how to prepare for delivery and parenthood. You ll also get extra benefits, such as: Supportive group sessions with other pregnant women. Apps and other online resources that offer pregnancy information. Gift cards for taking part in all prenatal and postpartum services. Cribs, swaddlers and sleep boxes to help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Infant clothing, blankets and diapers. What support does MCC of VA provide for kids? We understand how important it is for parents and caregivers to see your children grow into healthy young adults. To help them succeed, we provide the following added benefits: Gift cards for losing weight. A My Healthy Neighborhood toolbox for children in participating schools. This provides information on where healthy foods can be found nearby. It will also give you locations of parks and community activities to help kids stay fit and healthy. For children in the foster care or adoptive assistance program, we provide: Peer support from others who have been through foster care. A Transitions of Care program. This supports foster children entering adulthood. We ll help them get food and housing. And we ll help them solve any challenges along the way. A backpack for children switching to new homes. These may be packed with: o Health education tip sheets. o School supplies. o An oral hygiene kit. o Journal and drawing supplies. Children with a moderate disorder on the autism spectrum may get up to $1,500. This money must be used on goods and services to help support the goals of a structured autism program. These may include yoga, karate, a gym membership, a tablet or laptop computer. What behavioral health support does MCC of VA offer? We offer help if you are living with a behavioral health challenge. This includes: An online behavioral therapy app to help with: o Anxiety. o Insomnia. o Depression. o Substance use. o Obsessive-compulsive disorder. o Chronic pain. Recovery coaches who have lived similar experiences. They can use that knowledge to help you create a personal recovery plan. Help finding jobs. DOCTORS AND MEDICATIONS With MCC of VA, can I see the same doctor(s) I m seeing now? We understand change isn t easy. You may feel nervous about changing to a new health plan. You might be worried about changes to your doctors, medications or your services. But when you sign up with us, we ll work with you to make your transition as smooth as possible. If your doctor is not in our network, you can keep seeing the doctors you go to now for the first 30 days. You can also keep getting your approved services during this time or for 30 days after you first enroll. We will work to add your doctor into our network. If he or she hasn t joined our network after your first 30 days in our plan, we will help you find another doctor in our network who meet your needs.
