11 Food Allergy Test & Food Intolerance Test To identify the root cause of a patient's food allergy symptoms, Sympta tests the patient using a skin scratch/prick test (percutaneous). In this test a tiny drop of diluted allergen applied on the surface of the skin. We also perform Specific IgE blood testing (RAST). Latex, Metals, Chemicals, Venom, Drugs, & Biologics When testing for latex, metals, and chemicals, Sympta administers a patch test where tiny quantities of 25 to 150 materials (allergens) in individual square chambers are applied to the upper back. 12 Environmental Environmental Allergy Test Allergy Test Environmental allergens are the most common and include substances such as dust mites, mold spores, animal dander, cockroaches, irritants such as smoke, and pollen.
