Following the evaluation, family conferences are held and families are assisted in obtaining needed educational and therapeutic services in the community. The Child and Adolescent Diagnostic and Family Support Program provides a comprehensive interdisciplinary assessment and services for children age 3 and 21 with suspected or confirmed developmental disabilities. Specialty areas include intellectual and developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and evaluations of children with complex developmental and socio- emotional concerns. Provides evaluation and treatment of psychiatric, cognitive, memory, and behavioral problems that can occur following or as part of neurological and medical diseases. Ages: 4 and up

The Achievement Centers offer a variety of testing/diagnostic services as well as year round instructional programs designed to meet each student s learning objectives in terms of his/her learning capacities. Comprehensive diagnostic assessments and evaluations including measures to assess for autism and other emotional/behavioral disorders, cognitive functioning, language skills and personality. Among the types of evaluations we provide are psychological evaluations to help guide appropriate therapeutic intervention; psychological evaluations to determine current psychological functioning for legal or other allied professionals, comprehensive ADHD (ADD) assessment of children, adolescents, and adults; psychoeducational testing and learning disability screening, including Intelligence Testing (IQ) and Achievement Testing; as well as risk assessment for problematic sexual behavior in children and adolescents. To begin, a person's overall intelligence - or cognitive ability - must be measured. All of the processing areas must also be assessed. These areas include visual/auditory memory and discrimination, processing speed, executive functioning, etc. Once these processing areas have been evaluated, the person's achievement must be tested in various areas, such as speaking, listening, reading, writing and math. Tests are designed to assess specific problems such as symptoms related to ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional or behavioral problems, social difficulties, or developmental delays. The number of hours required for testing can vary according to the presenting problem and the age of the child. The tests help determine the child s emotional status, how the child processes different kinds of information, academic functioning, social abilities and the nature of a child s problem- solving skills.
