Liquid can accumulate static charge by flow, splashing or agitation. Vapor is heavier than air and may spread long distances. Distant ignition and flashback are possible. Liquid can float on water and may travel to distant locations and/or spread fire. Can decompose at high temperature forming carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, reactive hydrocarbons, low molecular weight aldehydes (e.g. acetaldehyde) and other irritating and toxic vapors, fumes and smoke. Closed containers may rupture and explode in the heat of a fire. Confined space hazard. Can accumulate in confined spaces, producing a fire/toxicity hazard. Mild central nervous system depressant. High vapor concentrations may cause headache, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, incoordination and confusion. SKIN IRRITANT. Causes severe skin irritation. Aspiration hazard. Swallowing or vomiting of the liquid may result in aspiration (breathing) into the lungs. POSSIBLE TERATOGEN/EMBRYOTOXIN - may harm the unborn child, based on animal information. GHS LABELING SYMBOLS: SIGNAL WORD: DANGER HAZARD STATEMENTS: Flammable liquid and vapor. May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Harmful in contact with skin. Causes skin and eye irritation. Harmful if inhaled. May cause drowsiness or dizziness. Suspected of causing cancer. Static accumulating flammable liquid can become electrostatically charged even in bonded and grounded equipment. Toxic to aquatic life. PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS: Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. No smoking. Keep container tightly closed. Ground/bond container and receiving equipment. Use explosion-proof electrical/ ventilating/ lighting/ equipment. Use only non-sparking tools. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Avoid breathing dust/ fume/ gas/ mist/ vapors/ spray. Wash skin thoroughly after handling. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid release to the environment.
