1 Test Track By: Nicholas W. I looked up at the huge circular dome with the Chevy symbol and the big bold name above the Chevy symbol was the bright sign of Test Track the name of the roller coaster that my dad and I were about to ride to end our Disney Experience for the trip. My dad went to these ticket machines by the entrance to the ride that gave these tickets called fast passes where you can get them for free by using your card to get into the park. My dad had the machine scan his card then machine popped the cards out to my dad who then took them and put them in his pocket. My dad then started walking towards the entrance he realized that I was trailing so he then called to me, Do I need to slow down? Yes dad, I responded. Once my dad and I got to the fastpass line, (the faster line) the guy that was working the line just said, Show me your fastpasses. My dad got the pases out and showed them to the line worker. The line worker barely glanced at the passes all he needed to know was that we had passes and he didn t even look at what time it said! My dad and just strolled past past the line worker and looked around the inside of Test Track. It was just like a car factory. There were robots that were making parts for a cars to show you how it's done. A huge number of people who had gotten fast passes so the line was moving really slow. The line that my dad and I were in was supposedly the 'fast line' but the 'slow line' was moving a lot faster than us. The wait for us was about a half and hour but it was cool because you could see how cars were made. When we got to the ride itself we were put into sections. Our section was the front of the car. The coaster was a sort of looking race car that had two seats in the front and two seats in the back. My dad and I got the front two seats, then we had to buckle up and then 3, 2, 1, Go! We took of and then we went down a steep slope that le into a freeway. We were going about forty miles an hour a semi truck came out of nowhere and almost hit us. To avoid not getting hit it meant that we had to have done a sharp turn which made us spin out. After that the car took us through hot and cold rooms, after the rooms we started picking up speed and then everyone started screaming. I then saw the wall we were going to hit. The wall opened at the last second then we zoomed past on to a long u-turn at seventy miles and hour. The wind slapped my face because there was no roof and my head was pressed against my headrest. Then we started to slow down, then we saw other cars ahead of us and knew the ride was over. "That was awesome!" I told my dad as we were getting out of the car. 3 I woke up and had a strange feeling, so I crawled out of bed and opened the door. I dragged myself down the hallway clutching my stomach. I felt sick to the bone everywhere, my head was throbbing and my eyes were half closed from drowsiness. I stumbled into my parents bedroom and woke them up, Daddy I think I m going to puke. My Dad and Mom then jumped out of bed and rushed me to their bathroom. As soon as I got to the toilet, everything started coming up. All the foods and liquids were regurgitated. After a little while when I had temporarily stopped barfing my parents took me to their bed and let me watch some t.v. After I got comfortable they gave me a light pink barf bucket so if I started barfing again I would barf in it. After about five minutes I started barfing uncontrollably again, some of it got in the bucket but most of it went on the bed and this time, I didn t stop. This went on for hours so then my dad said, We have to take him to the hospital he s lost too much liquids and food. my dad told my mom, she just nodded. Oh and you have to stay here and watch Matthew in case he wakes up. Okay, my mom responded. My dad helped me get dressed, next he he led me downstairs, then he helped me put on my coat and shoes, and finally we went outside. When we got into the car, my dad started the engine and sped off. The car seemed to have waited forever and canned up in the garage and had a bunch of extra energy so when we left it was like a puppy that hadn t been outside in a week. While my dad and I were going to the ERA, I was really scared I was thinking was I going to die? When my dad and I got to the hospital my dad carried me inside to a counter where some nurses told us to wait in a little room. About an half hour later a nurse came in and asked us to follow her to another room. When we got to the room I was told to lie down on a weird looking bed and then the nurse left. My dad comforted me by saying It will be okay and you will get better. I started thinking that the chair had special healing powers but then I heard footsteps click clack click clack and the nurse came back with a bag of liquids and A BIG LONG NEEDLE. That s when I started flipping out, I was screaming and crying and thrashing. My dad had to hold me down when the nurse put the needle in my arm. I felt like a sword with poison had pierced my arm. So I just kept on screaming and crying, this went on for fifteen minutes. My dad then soothed me down by saying that it was good for me to have had the shot so that I would get better then I went to sleep. When I woke up I looked around the room thinking, am I now better? Then I saw the needle still in my arm. I then started screaming again, My dad had been asleep when I started screaming. He shot up from the chair started coming over to me, that was when the doctor came in and answered my question with a yes.

4 While I was in the car driving home I was exhausted so I let my mind drift of. I day dreamed of when I was riding my bike around the court feeling the air slap my face then I hit a divot that I didn t see and I crashed to the ground. My dad saw this from the house and sprinted to me. When he got to me he told me to stay calm then he called to my mom who was watering the plants to get a big band aid. My mom went inside and came back outside and put the bandage on my knee and then my dad helped me inside and eased the pain. I didn t realize it then but it showed how much my parents cared for me. When I woke up we were almost at our house. As I was getting out of the car my mom heard us and came flying out the back door and wrapped me in a bear hug. You would have had an easier time to have chopped a diamond with your bare hands than have gotten out of the hug. My mom then took me inside to give me a shower and some food. After I had a shower a some food I walked up stairs to my room. After I had climbed into my bed I heard footsteps that were getting louder, ba boom ba boom. Then the person opened the door a light flooded the room. My dad walked over to my bed a gave me a kiss on my forehead and said, Sweet dreams little trooper, and then I fell asleep thinking I love you dad. Mini Society By: Nicholas W. 5 Three weeks earlier. So if you could have double chocolate cake, oatmeal raisin cookies or custard cream pie which would you have? Remember you can only have one of them if you could. Now raise you hands for double chocolate cake, some of the students raised their hands. Now oatmeal raisin cookies, more students raised their hands. Finally custard cream pie. The last of the students raised their hands. The winner is double chocolate cake! The lesson today was that there are consequences for everything you do, they can be good or bad. Now you can go find your partners. Mr. Perry said. Right then everyone started running around to find their partners, I went looking for my friend Thomas Walsh. Thomas had run for treasurer and won so him and his partner would get bonuses cash. Then Mr. Perry our teacher, then called out, Once you come up with you business come tell me. Thomas recommend to do a lottery because everyone goes for them and no one else won t think to do it! That sounds great, I exclaimed! Then we started making posters for the next two weeks but then we had to stop. On Monday Thomas and I finished our posters and started putting them up then we had enough. The next day we could start buying other peoples products. This went on for the next two days until Friday. Our group easily had the most customers than all the groups. When we finished that selling that day we had to move our supplies to the cafeteria. Thomas and I walked into the cafeteria and started to set up our supplies. I told Thomas to keep setting up our supplies and I would put up the posters. When people started walking in, I walked over to the entrance and told a lot of them about the lottery and where it was. When I got to the stand no customers were there. Why aren t there any people in line this is the opposite from what happened in school today, I told Thomas. I know, Thomas replied. Then both of our families came in got some of the cash and walked over to our station and bought a lot of tickets for the auction. Then some

6 people came and more, and more people came until there was a huge line. Thomas and I didn t know how many more people could come before we ran out of tickets. Just as the last customer purchased his ticket we had only three tickets left. Then we shook the basket and went up stage to announce the winners. And the winners for the lottery are Ashley Riggs! Emily Finkbiner! And Ashley Riggs again! Now come up for your prizes. I said into the microphone. When they both came up they looked so happy to have won. After they received their prizes they flew down the stairs to show their parents. After the sale my family were so proud of me to have had such a good business so then both Thomas and my families went to get ice cream. When we were eating ice cream I remembered how became friends with Thomas. It started with when we both did swim team and both our moms were friends so we just had to be friends and then we figured out that we really were friends. When I came back to reality I realized that it had felt great that I had a great business with a great friend.
