Meningococcal C Vaccine: Recommendation for vaccination at 4 and 13 months of age and adolescents sent to DoH. 19 May 2014 Men B vaccine: decision to request re-examination of HTA including 2+1 schedule and to what degree some parameters would have to change in order for the vaccine to be cost-effective (Carriage, price, incidence, long-term disability rates). Recent online updates to Guidelines discussed. Draft of Hypersensitivity document discussed. To be sent to 2 outside experts. 24 March 2014 SOP - Draft SOP for issuing information to be drawn up; for discussion at next meeting. Men B Vaccine: Details of JCVI statement February 2014 circulated. Infant programme could be cost effective if price reduced. To re-run HTA based on the new parameters. Statement agreed: The introduction of the meningitis B vaccine raises
3 complex issues that require thoughtful consideration. The revised pararmeters for assessment, as recently published by the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation in the UK, are being taken into account. A decision on this vaccine remains a priority issue for the National Immunisation Advisory Committee. Recommendations for vaccine use in high risk populations and outbreaks to be drafted and circulated to the committee. Men C vaccine: Discussion on removal of second infant dose and introducing adolescent booster at 14 years as data shows greater waning immunity with younger age of administration. Changes to online chapters circulated. Issue of possible conflict of interest when members asked to chair/speak at meetings. Subcommittee to draft guidelines for next meeting. Suggestion that declarations be made prior to every meeting. Report of meeting with DoH given. Discussion regarding hypersensitivity reactions following vaccination. Draft report to be amended following discussion with outside experts. BCG-reiteration that TB control measures very important if neonatal BCG is removed from primary immunisation programme 20 January 2014 Men B outbreak: update presented. Recommendation that close contacts of index case be offered vaccine Men C vaccine: decision to recommend change to 1+1 schedule (4 months, 13 months) with booster at 12 yrs. of age Suspected unexpected severe adverse reaction (SUSAR) following MMR vaccine discussed. Isolated case with no general safety concerns.

Men B vaccine-awaiting HTA. 22 July 2013 Immunisation Guidelines 2013 being formatted. Small no. of copies to be printed, from now on only available online. App very expensive, so not to be progressed. Tdap in pregnancy-decision to recommend it. BCG HTA presented. Universal neonatal BCG not cost-effective. To discuss with TB advisory committee. 20 May 2013 Rotavirus-cost-effective at current price. To advise CMO that NIAC recommend rotavirus vaccine be added to primary vaccination programme. HPV: NIAC recommends HPV4 vaccine should be considered for all MSMs until the age of 26yrs BCG-to advise CMO that BCG be removed from primary programme. Pertussis vaccine: to recommend Tdap vaccination in every pregnancy regardless of previous vaccination. Men B vaccine-for HTA 25 March 2013 BCG adverse events, TB notifications, demographics and mortality rates discussed. Awaiting HTA. Immunisation Guidelines 2013 almost completed awaiting proofing.

Recommendations for 2012 Influenza season are unchanged from May 2012 NIAC supports the use of a Blue Book s art pho e app NIAC recommends the strengthening of Public Health Legislation to facilitate the control of outbreaks of vaccine preventable infectious
6 diseases and will submit feedback to the Legislation Technical Consultation Paper (Q.8) as part of the consultation exercise in response to the proposed Health and Wellbeing Framework NIAC has requested that cost effectiveness of rotavirus vaccine be reevaluated. 26 Mar 2012 NIAC reps to meet CMO in April. BCG evaluation group to begin review; aim to complete work for November meeting. 23 Jan 2012 NIAC to release a statement on the likely association of Pandemrix with narcolepsy following release of report. The NIAC writing group is to begin updating chapters for the National Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland Chapter 19 of the guidelines will be amended to include the Japanese encephalitis virus vaccine IXIARO A working group has been established to inform NIAC if the current guidelines regarding neonatal BCG vaccination should be amended based on current TB incidence and BCG side effect data as available. 07 Nov 2011 NIAC has approved the Association of Anaesthesists of Great Britain a d Irela d guideli e e titled The ti i g of acci atio ith respect to anaesthesia and surgery". 8 Current guidelines recommend human normal immunoglobulin for post Measles exposure prohylaxis for certain at risk groups.
