Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this 9 Bliss BTE and minibte Hearing Instruments Acoustic options All Bliss BTE and minibte instruments are available with either a conventional Earhook or Thin Tube with Adapter and Dome system. Thin Tube Domes Custom Fit Conventional Earhook Thin Tube 0.9 mm.3 mm 6 mm (XS) 8 mm (S) 0 mm (M) mm (L) Open Dome Tulip Dome Dome, Large Vent Dome, Small Vent Power Dome Various Custom Molds available Thin Tube lengths To ensure a secure fitting with maximum patient comfort, the proper Thin Tube length should be selected for each patient before fitting a Bliss BTE or minibte. Sonic Thin Tubes come in four different lengths, and a red (Right) or blue (Left) marker on the Thin Tube identifies the orientation. Length Size Code XShort 0 Short Medium Long 3 Determining the proper Thin Tube length To determine which Thin Tube length is most appropriate for your patient, use the fitting tool from your Sonic BTE Dispensing Kit. 0 3 Note! Right and left markings on the fitting tool indicate which hand to use and which ear to measure. Four sightlines (0---3) indicate the proper tubing length, according to the table above.
0 Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this Installing right and left instrument markers on Bliss BTE Locate the space inside the battery compartment which shows the receptacle for the right and left marker. Line up the end of the red (Right) or blue (Left) marker and slide the tip into the slot until it firmly fits as shown. 3 Twist and break off the long post of the marker tool, ensuring that the marker remains in position. 3 4 Installing right and left instrument markers on Bliss minibte Locate the space on the back of the instrument which shows the receptacle for the right and left marker. Insert the end of the red (Right) or blue (Left) marker into the slot until it firmly fits as shown. 3 Twist and break off the long post of the marker tool, ensuring that the marker remains in the instrument s opening. 3
Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this Attaching and removing the Earhook or Thin Tube Adapter Remove the Earhook or Thin Tube Adapter from the hearing instrument by unscrewing it (counter-clockwise). Replace the Earhook or Thin Tube Adapter with the desired part. 3 To attach either the Earhook or Thin Tube Adapter, screw it (clockwise) onto the hearing instrument. 3 3 Note! Be careful not to over-rotate (more than 3 full rotations) the Earhook or Thin Tube Adapter. The BTE Thin Tube Adapter may have a small space between it and the casing, so do not over-rotate.
Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this Attaching and removing the Thin Tube If the Thin Tube becomes discolored, stiff or brittle, it should be replaced. Pull firmly to remove the old Thin Tube. Hold the instrument by the Thin Tube Adapter and grasp the Thin Tube close to the threaded connector. 3 Attach the new Thin Tube by pushing it firmly into the Thin Tube Adapter. Changing Thin Tube Domes The soft Domes are a disposable part. The patient should be supplied with spare Domes and shown how to change them. Pull the used Dome off the Thin Tube and discard. With clean hands, firmly push a new Dome onto the Thin Tube as far as it will go. Note! If the Dome is not pushed all the way onto the Thin Tube, it could fall off into the ear canal.
Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this 3 Bliss BTE DAI Locate the DAI pins at the bottom of the hearing instrument. Insert the DAI/Euro Plug or FM Receiver of the assistive listening device into this area.
4 Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this Attaching the DAI Boot minibte Slip the DAI Boot over the minibte. When it is fully seated you will feel it click into place. Insert the DAI/Euro Plug or FM Receiver of the assistive listening device into the DAI Boot. Removing the DAI Boot minibte Pull the DAI/Euro Plug or FM Receiver out of the DAI Boot. 18 8 Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this Fitting a Bliss IIC The IIC hearing instrument is designed to sit deep in the canal after the first bend. Candidacy depends on the patient s ear canal anatomy. In order to determine if an IIC is possible for your patient, follow the fitting guidelines and illustrations below. a b c b a c A Impression evaluation The candidacy evaluation for an IIC hearing instrument requires a quality ear impression that extends beyond the second bend of the ear canal. The size and fit of the IIC is determined by the ear impression. Use the ear impression tool to determine if the size and shape of the ear canal are appropriate for an IIC. a b c b a c B The IIC hearing instrument can be built with the microphone on the side (A) or on the top (B) of the faceplate. The ear impression tool can be used to determine which configuration is most suitable for the given ear impression. Using the ear impression tool a Canal length The length of the canal determines if there is enough room between the tip of the instrument and the faceplate. To determine if the canal length is sufficient, use the red line and measure from the tip of the ear impression to the first () bend. In order to make the IIC invisible, the edge of the tool should not reach the first bend. Ok a Not ok
Sonic Bliss Happiness sounds just like this 9 Canal height The height of the canal determines if there is enough space for the IIC to pass through the canal to the final ear canal placement. The height of the ear impression measured at a point between the first () and second () bends must be larger than the pink line on the ear impression tool. b Ok b Not ok 3 Canal width The width of the canal determines if the faceplate will fit past the first bend. The width of the ear impression measured at a point after the first () bend must be greater than the gray line on the ear impression tool. The canal should be wider than the notch and not fit within the notch. c Ok c c Not ok 4 Canal shape It is important to visually inspect the ear impression for proper canal shape. An ear canal that widens at the end is not suitable for an IIC (C). C Canal widens after nd bend Not ok
