As the name implies, MANI Silk Files was designed using state of the art heat treatment to give the user excellent tactile control, safety and efficiency. MANI Silk Files are both flexible enough to negotiate virtually any curvature and yet strong enough to resist fracture. The unique cross-section tear drop design cuts very effectively. In addition, users experience a reduced screwing effect, which reduces the risk of fracture to a minimum. The specially designed luting thread ensures a fast and effective removal of debris which makes the use of MANI Silk Files a safe and fast experience. The patented partial heat treatment of the NiTi files combines flexibility, efficiency and safety. Thanks to our patented partial heat treatment approx. 10 mm from tip, MANI Silk Files are flexible enough to manage even strongly curved root canals. Estimate the true working length (TWL) from the initial diagnostic radiographs. 2. Prepare straight-line access. 3. Remove the Cervical Dentinal Triangle (CDT) & shape the coronal third. The orifice opener is used with a brushing motion against the root wall of greatest thickness to remove the CDT (if present) and to shape the coronal third. 4. Establish and/or confirm apical patency. MANI D Finder hand files are pre-curved and used to negotiate the canal to the apex and achieve apical patency. Once apical patency is determined and/or the clinician reaches the estimated working length (determined from #1 above), an electronic apex locator can be used to determine the true working length. 5. Prepare a glide path. The MANI hand files of choice (D Finders, K-files, SEC O K Files safe ended hand files) are then used to prepare a glide path to the true working length. A glide path has been prepared when a #20 hand K-file spins freely at the apex. 6. Prepare the Canal. Using MANI Silk, the canal is generally prepared from a smaller tip size to larger using the tactile recommendations and suggested motor settings (500rpm / 300g-cm). MANI Silk is used in a three second continuous and controlled passive insertion to resistance and removed. The canal is irrigated and recapitulated with a small hand file and the next MANI Silk file in the sequence is inserted in the same manner.
