1 Making a Difference Project Grades 4, 5 and 6 Kelsey Krantz

2 Playground ircuit Information Purpose: These playground circuits are made to promote an active lifestyle for children in grades four, five and six. This project has been designed to make children enjoy being active and healthy so they will take their new found enjoyment with them as they become teenagers. I chose these three grades to target at hurchbridge Public chool because once they reach grade seven they are in the high school athletic programs. My goal for these circuits is to make the children like being physically active and want to continue being active in organized school sports. The Types of ocomotion Involved: peed Walk- one foot in front of the other with a heel-toe action where one foot is always on the ground. March- while walking bringing knees up to stomach height, opposite leg-arm action should be used. kip- forward step followed by a hop on the same foot. Gallop- a forward step followed by a leap onto the trailing foot while facing forwards. lide- a forward step followed by leap onto the trailing foot while facing and moving sideways. ne Foot op- one foot is used to project body into space and the same foot is landed on. Two Foot op- two feet are used to project body into space and both feet are landed on.

3 Types of Activities Involved: Duck Walk- standing with feet shoulder width apart, squat down until your butt touches your thighs then begin to walk. rab Walk- sit on your butt, put your feet on the ground with your knees up and put your arms out behind you. ift yourself off the ground and walk on all fours backwards. Jumping Jack- start with arms at your side and have legs and feet straight and close together. Jump while spreading your arms till they touch your ears and have your legs move more than shoulder width apart. nce you finished jumping bring your arms and legs back together. (This is one jumping jack) Toe Touch- standing perfectly straight, bend torso until fingers touch toes. (No bend in the knees) Burpee- starts by standing, then squat down till your knees touch your chest. From here go into a push up position, with hands still on the ground bring legs into a squatting position then jump into the air landing on your feet. (This is one burpee) Knee Tucks- standing with feet shoulder width apart, jump into the air and bring knees up to your chest.
