2 Vision To see all exploited women working in Cambodia s entertainment industry live with dignity, equality and hope Mission To empower women to improve their lives and work in an environment free from sexual and economic exploitation History Precious Women was founded in 2010 by Solida Seng, to help young women working in karaoke bars and beer gardens in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Entertainment establishments such as karaoke bars and beer gardens are socially acceptable places for men to hang out with their friends, drink, and be served by women who work there. The men are free to touch the women, which leads to abuse and exploitation, as the men often pay for sex with the women. Precious Women reaches out and builds relationships with these women, sharing God s love with them, and empowering them to provide for themselves in an environment free from exploitation.

3 Outreach Program Empowerment Training: To see all exploited women that are working in the entertainment industry in Phnom Penh understand their rights and be able to respond in a positive way to those who are exploiting them. Women Attended Topics # of KTV s Cell Group Fellowship Parties: To strengthen relationships amongst women and staff in a safe and uplifting environment where we can share testimonies, pray and support one another and see lives transformed. Women Attended Events # of KTV s Home Visits families Voice of Hope Radio: To increase public awareness about prevention and protection issues for entertainment workers. Callers Live Shows Topics Guest Speakers Home Visits families Drop In Center: To provide women with a safe place during the daytime to meet with staff and take classes for English, Khmer, and Computers. The Drop In Center is our newest program, that we started when we moved offices in August. Since it has opened we have had 17 women visit during the day. We currently offer English and Khmer classes.

5 Stories of Impact Outreach Program Testimony I was born into a poor family, so I started working when I was 13 years old. I had problems at my workplace so I had to stop working there, and I decided to move to Phnom Penh to find a job. I started working with my friend at a restaurant. I met a man and got married and had a baby. But then I found out that my husband was already married, so we got divorced, and I stopped working at the restaurant. My friend told me about an opportunity to work at a KTV, and she said that I could make more money and that it would be easy work, so I decided to start working there. I earn $70 per month, and then tips from customers. One day, Precious Women s Empowerment Trainers came to the KTV and provided soft skills training to myself and the other women at the KTV. The Outreach team introduced us to Precious Women, and invited us to go meet them at their office. I went and started building relationships with the staff members. I began studying English and Computer at Precious Women, and I have been committed to my studies. I have changed since I started going to Precious Women, I no longer go to night clubs, and I have started to lead my own life, to manage my money, and give support to my baby and my family. I want to continue studying with Precious Women and improve my Computer and English skills. Reported by Seng SreyMey, Outreach Trainer Butterfly Program Testimony I was born in the province and only studied until grade 9 because of my family s debt. Since I had such little education, I had no options to find a good job. My friend told me that I could earn a lot of money working in a KTV, and there weren t very strict rules to follow. So I decided to start working in the KTV as a singer. I received $120 per month and received tips from $4 to $5 a night. I felt shame and embarrassment in my workplace because many customers hugged and kissed me. Sometimes customers wanted me to have sex with them at the guesthouse, but I refused to so then they got very angry with me. I got married in 2011, and I had a son. In 2015 I met Precious Women through the Outreach team. I felt very happy because I wanted to transform my life by receiving Beauty Salon Skills training from Precious Women. In September 2016, I graduated from Beauty Salon Skills training at Precious Women. Then I got a business loan from Precious Women to start my own beauty salon in my home town. It is so great that Precious Women is helping me. This allows me to earn money and take care of myself and my family who lives in the same house as me. Now since opening my Beauty Salon, I can earn around $200 to $250 per month. I can live with dignity and be economically sustainable. Most importantly, I now feel valued by my relatives and friends.
