Free To help families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the drinking problem of a relative or a friend. Alateen groups are available for teenage children of alcoholic parents. Free Group provides fellowship and mutual support for recovering alcoholics through self help meetings. FamilyLinks 2644 Banksville Road Pittsburgh, PA (412) Hours: 9:00am - 9:00pm Monday Friday (appointment only) Those with a sincere desire to overcome their dependency problems and to increase their quality of life. Sliding scale, medical assistance and third party insurance. 5

6 Provides outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, individual and group counseling for chemical dependency, co-dependency, adolescent treatment, and family issues. Offers a 5-week intensive outpatient program as an alternative to inpatient rehabilitation, and a 12-week Modified Outpatient Long-term Development (MOLD) Program, to enhance life skills and focus on vocational/educational goals. NA is a non profit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs have become a major problem. NA involves recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. Sliding fee scales for most programs; third party payment and medical assistance accepted: DUI program has tuition cost. Various types of aftercare following in-patient treatment, family therapy, group therapy, crisis worker available to provide emergency assessments, intervention groups for DUI referrals, and follow-up coordination of services with community agencies. 8

All retests $10. Instruction for and operating as a test site for the G.E.D. Remedial reading instruction for ages 17 and up who are not enrolled in public school. Instruction for any adult who may need to improve basic skills even if they are a high school graduate. Working at the Mission, in the recycling center, or in other areas, the residents not only help the operation of the Mission, but they learn valuable, marketable job skills. 10

On the job training, life skills, classroom training in various vocational and technical fields, job search techniques through job workshops, youth employment training for year olds who lack search skills and work experience; GED and remedial education services. Provides information on loan and grant programs. TEC Transitional Employment Consultants 330 Central Avenue Washington, PA (724) Hours: 8:00am 4:30pm Monday - Friday 18 years or older with a mental or physical disability. Paid by referral agency, not by client Vocational program for individuals with disabilities including job readiness, (resume preparation, interviewing, etc.) transitional employment (temporary work), volunteer work, transition from school to work, and placement into competitive employment. 13

Family, individual and marital counseling, parenting classes, adoption services, parenting and pregnancy life skills training; and organizes the Angel Tree Program, which provides Christmas toys to Greene County children. Dollar Energy applications and fire disaster assistance after all other available resources have been exhausted. Also features the WIN (Women in Need) Program, which provides free services for newborns up to age one. Centerville Clinics, Inc. Joseph Yablonski Memorial Clinic 1070 Old National Pike Road Fredricktown, PA (724) Hours: 8:00am 5:00pm Monday Friday Evening and Saturday hours are available. No restrictions. Sliding fee scale based on income and all insurances are accepted and various managed care plans. Provides a comprehensive program of family oriented primary health care for children, adolescents, and adults in medically underserved areas. Primary care includes: general/family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology and pediatrics. 15

Free medical care for basic health care needs and minor health care problems of residents and other homeless individuals is provided by volunteer doctors and nurses. Cornerstone Care, Inc. - Greensboro 7 Glassworks Road Greensboro, PA (724) Hours: 9:00am 8:00pm Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 9:00am 5:00pm Tuesday & Friday Services are available to everyone Sliding fee scale; extended payment arrangements available. Accepts most insurances, Medicaid and Medicare. Provides medical, dental, nutrition and social services. Medical care includes: routine physicals, pediatrics and Well Child Care, immunizations, family planning, prenatal care, hearing and vision screenings, EKG, blood analysis, pelvic exams, pap smear, podiatry and chiropractic services. Social services include: family planning (including the supply of contraceptives, genetic counseling, including testing for genetic diseases, fertility, financial and insurance counseling. General counseling for problems include: stress, parenting and mental health. Nutrition services include: counseling for weight reduction, pregnancy/infant feeding, breastfeeding mothers, child nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, eating disorders, and WIC clinic. Counseling and psychological services including individual and group psychotherapy for teenagers and adults; play therapy for children; couples and family therapy. 16

Contact the county assistance office at or Health Choices at This managed health care plan has been approved by the Department of Public Welfare to provide care to people receiving Medical assistance. Provides free pregnancy testing, maternity clothing, crib and other equipment, counseling throughout pregnancy and referral to medical, legal, and financial resources, and housing for pregnant women. 20 Provide healthcare insurance to children of families who are not eligible for Medical Assistance but whose income is not sufficient to afford healthcare insurance. adultbasic was designed to provide health insurance for adults meeting certain eligibility requirements and who do not have healthcare coverage. Provide information about and assist in filing for Retirement, Survivor, Disability, Medicare, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. Southwest PA Legal Services 63 South Washington Street (724) Hours: 9:00am 5:00pm Monday - Friday Must be under certain economic guidelines; at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Free Provides legal assistance on civil cases that involve landlord/tenant, divorce, support, abuse, custody, visitation, SSI, SSD, welfare problems, and employment compensation, consumer problems, and bankruptcy. 21

22 Western Pennsylvania Caring Foundation 620 Stanwix Street Pittsburgh, PA (412) Hours: Residents of PA for 90 days prior to enrollment. Ages 19 through 64 years with incomes that meet certain income guidelines.. Highmark's programs based on income are available to individuals and families with household incomes that fall within certain limits. Contact number listed above. Adult Basic Program is designed to provide basic insurance benefits including: Hospitalization (unlimited days), Physician services (primary care and specialists) Emergency Services, Diagnostic Tests, Maternity care, Rehabilitation and skilled care. 22

Food Pantry, Center Township Corner Cupboard Food Bank, Inc. 511 Rolling Meadows Road (724) Hours: 11:00am Noon 3 rd Wednesday each month Income of 150% below federal poverty guidelines. Food pantry serves Center Township (including the towns of Holbrook, Oak Forest, Rogersville, and Rutan). Food is distributed on a monthly basis to eligible residents who have registered for the program. In addition to the regular distributions, the volunteer coordinator also responds to emergency food requests. 24

The Food Information line ( ) links people in need to food through local pantries or soup kitchens in 65 PA counties (excluding Allegheny and Philadelphia.) The Food Stamp Screening Line ( ) helps callers learn if they might be eligible for the Food Stamp Program and can assist them in applying online via COMPASS. 26

30 Ways to Work is a consumer car loan program designed to assist moderate income families who are currently working or who are at risk of losing their jobs due to transportation issues, get a low interest loan to purchase or repair a vehicle. Goodwill Industries, Inc. 89 Jefferson Avenue Washington, PA (724) Hours: 9:00am 9:00pm Monday Saturday 11:00am 6:00pm Sunday Disability that enables a person to be referred by OVR. No requirements for the thrift shop. Fees are negotiated through OVR for the job training program. Fees vary for thrift shop items. Strictly retail sales of low cost merchandise including: clothing, shoes, bedding, household items and furniture. Cost of items are marked, however if someone has a need and cannot pay they may fill out an application for a voucher. Rural Development Agency 602 Evans City Road Butler, PA (724) Hours: 8:00am 4:30pm Monday - Friday Varies for agricultural assistance. Income, family size, and geographical area residing in for non-farm assistance. Depends on loan or grant secured. Grants and guaranteed loans for eligible farmers and low-income rural residents. These include emergency, farm operating, farm ownership for farmers. Section 502, Section 504 is for very low-income housing loans and grants. 31
