Required weekly classes teach families about budgeting, nutrition, and job skills. 3 to 24 month program. Requirements: Must be homeless according to the definition of homeless by HUD, anyone residing in a place non habitable by humans. All adults in the family must have full-time job or be ready to actively seek employment.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, confirmed pregnancy, have a need for housing (either for financial or personal reasons) and be willing to follow Home rules/guidelines. The fathers are allowed to attend classes and be involved, but may not stay at the home. FOREST AVENUE FAMILY SHELTER 4300 Forest Avenue, Kansas City, MO Provides 30 or 90 day shelter, life skill classes, and case management as well as TrueLife Change and Pay-to-Stay for homeless women and children. TrueLife Change offers free long term shelter for women seeking a college degree at an accredited school. Pay-to- Stay is a minimal fee housing program (usually lasting 6 months) offered to women who complete the 90 day shelter stay. HALO 3519 Bennett Ln. -Jefferson City, MO Application available online Serves as a shelter for homeless women with or without children Residents with children stay 24 months and the program focuses on improving education, employment and financial knowledge HARVEST HOUSE Boonville, MO Can stay 30 days If complete the requirements (job, volunteering)they do have an extended program to help them save money and get housing Cannot take anyone with assault, sexual or arson charges or crimes against children in their background. For women separated from their families due to addiction problems. Women that have maintained at least nine months of sobriety, worked the steps, obtained employment and are actively working with a sponsor can move into the apartment complex with their husband, a child or by themselves and continue to receive 24 hour support from the staff. Women must be separated from their children for at least 6 months of the program. Most ideal for single women or women with someone to care for the children during their recovery.
