4 2 Fine Turf Micro-green The professional s choice Micro-Green fertilisers are an extremely direct and effective way of giving the grass plant the correct nutrients at the correct time. These physically uniform granules make sure an even coverage and an extremely quick dispersion into the canopy for predictable results. The scientific research behind these products relates to the interaction between Nitrogen and Phosphorus. Non-uniform application of granular dry blend fertilisers can be frustrating, unsightly on turfgrass and extremely devastating on intensely managed golf course greens. Granular dry blend fertilisers are mixtures of particles of different sizes, shapes and weights, which often leads to sifting segregation of the elements. tudies have indicated that if the nitrogen is separated from the phosphorus by as much as two inches, there can be as much as a 50% reduction in phosphorus uptake by the plant. The non-uniformity of blends of this type and can result in uneven growth, lack of uniform color and increased management problems. 7 Nutrient Input Guide It is important to know how much actual nutrient is being applied when planning accurate turf fertiliser input. Detailed below are the calculations, with examples, for granular, soluble and liquid fertilisers. This is the ratio of the density of the liquid to the density of water. 8 6 Outfield low-release Fertiliser Polymer-Coated, ulfur-coated How the Technology Works Understanding polymer-coated, sulfur-coated technology XCU's coating is what makes it better. It is the only polymer-coated, sulfur-coated urea (PCCU) with a polymer layer inside the protective surface layer. Lesser PCCUs have a polymer or conditioner on the outside of the sulfur. XCU's outer sulfur and wax layers work together to protect the inner polymer coating during the various stages of processing. The polymer layer inside XCU delivers a consistent nutrient release once the outer sulfur and wax layers absorb water. Locked-off PCCU particles might sit for up to several years, during which time the nutrients are unavailable. The biggest drawback of locked-off particles is the inconsistency and diminished effectiveness of the fertiliser applications. 11 UMAXX and UFLEXX Technology UMAXX & UFLEXX deliver more usable nitrogen than other sources at a significantly lower cost. When you use UMAXX, you can expect weeks* of consistent nitrogen feeding, resulting in fewer applications and still maintaining maximum turf color and vigor while UFLEXX delivers the same consistant feeding for 8-12 weeks. 9 Outfield In a premium nitrogen category all of their own, these technologies are stabilised nitrogen fertilisers formulated specifically for the turf and ornamental markets. The techonology ensures more nitrogen gets to the plant where it is intended to go. It improves nitrogen performance by reducing nitrogen loss to the environment and holding nitrogen in the soil in a plant usable form to provide consistent feeding that is not dependent on soil temperature or moisture. UMAXX is a uniquely formulated combination of N-(n-butyl) thiophosphoric triamide, (NBPT), a urease inhibitor, dicyandiamide; a nitrification inhibitor, and urea. NBPT stops volatilization for up to 2 weeks thus minimizing nitrogen loss and reducing the potential for turf burn. Dicyandiamide blocks the microbial conversion of ammonium nitrogen to nitrate nitrogen. This keeps the nitrogen in the stable ammonium form and in the soil for more efficient plant utilisation. It also greatly reduces the leaching of nitrates that can contaminate groundwater. UMAXX is available in a standard size particle and a mini particle. It is used as a nitrogen component in blended fertilisers and as a soluble nitrogen source for use in liquid applications. UMAXX is ideal for use on golf courses or where ever quality turf is desired. UFLEXX is a sister product to UMAXX and is most suitable for use in the turf, landscape and lawn care markets. It contains both NBPT and dicyandiamide but is designed to last approximately 50% as long as UMAXX. UFLEXX is a worthy competitor to sulfur coated ureas as it is more efficient and more versatile. The acetate molecule is immediately absorbed, and then is quickly converted to carbohydrates. Potassium will increase strength, improve plant health and add colour. Research data shows greater potassium uptake from acetate by a plant than any other potassium source evaluated. ignature Control P-K FCONPK IGNATURE CONTROL P-K contains 20% phosphorus and 30% potassium both derived from phosphite which is buffered for immediate uptake via the leaf. ignature Control P-K contains no Nitrogen so the management of vigour and growth can be better controlled. Higher concentrations of potassium will toughen, harden and make turf more durable as water will not fill the cells and contribute to soft growth. ignature Chelated Fe FCHELFE IGNATURE CHELATED FE is a high analysis Iron designed to produce quick and prolonged green-up of turfgrass. Iron applied to turf will create the production of excess chlorophyll thus giving a longer-lasting deep green appearance. Iron as a dissociated or dissolved ion will enter the turf via the leaf or the root system and form a carrier compound, (Ferredoxin) which is essential in the formation of Chlorophyll. The application of Iron will force turf to produce Chlorophyll in excess thus giving the green up desired. ignature Traces FTRACE IGNATURE TRACE is a multi-trace element formulation containing iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, boron and molybdenum specially designed for the requirements of premium quality turfgrass. The application of these trace elements is essential for complete nutritional control when managing quality turf. The role of most trace elements in turfgrass is to form enzymes to initiate or control growth.
