3 The Anxiety Recovery Cheat Sheet The Bad News: Anxiety Sucks! The Good News: Anxiety is VERY treatable and can be overcome without relying on mind-numbing medication or traditional talk therapy. I know it's hard to accept, but we cause our own anxiety by the way we think. Unhealthy thoughts are amplified by a stressful way of thinking and living, and before you know it your life is filled with worry, sleepless nights and panic attacks. I've been there. For 5 long, painful years I struggled with extreme social anxiety and daily panic attacks. My world shrank and I lived in constant fear of the next panic attack, terrified the world would learn my terrible secret. Traditional treatments didn't work for me, so I went looking for my own answers. I experimented with every mental and physical approach I could find, and in the end, I got my life back. What follows on the next page are the 6 steps I've identified that you need to follow if you're to conquer your anxiety. Please keep in mind these didn't just work for me. Through my award-winning book A Life Less Anxious and my accompanying website, I've helped tens of thousands of people just like you conquer their anxiety without drugs or therapy.
4 6 Steps To Freedom From Anxiety Below are the 6 steps that when followed properly will allow you to conquer your struggles with social anxiety and panic attacks:
5 Quick Summary Of Each Step 1. Learn How To Calm Down Before you can make any progress, you need to learn how to calm yourself down when you're feeling anxious. This includes learning various mental and physical relaxation techniques to put you in a healthier state of mind to really make progress. 2. Educate Yourself Knowledge is power! The more you know about what causes anxiety and what's happening to your body, the less scary it will seem. You will gain confidence when you understand and believe that this can be defeated. 3. Change Your Life A number of factors have caused your anxiety, so you need to learn simple but powerful life changes you can make that will greatly improve your mood, health and state of mind. 4. Become Comfortable In Silence Once you learn how to be comfortable being quiet and still and are no longer afraid of your thoughts, you are well on your way to recovery. Learning how to meditate is key to beating anxiety for life. 5. Rebuild Your Confidence Now that you're feeling better, it's time to systematically rank, face and conquer your fears. Because you now know relaxation techniques this makes it easier, and there is nothing like the rush of confidence and bliss you feel when you voluntarily run towards the roar of the lion and face your fear. 6. Maintenance Required If you don't take care of your garden, weeds will grow. Maintaining healthy daily routines and continuing to grow and push yourself are keys to avoid relapses with anxiety and panic attacks.
