2 Natural calamities have been disturbing the peace and existence of mankind since the time immemorial that is the reason why the human race respects and seeks the benisons from the natural forces, worshiping them as celestial beings, particularly during Vedic period. Charak samhita one of the three main texts has described fore stated segment under the caption of Janapadodhvamsathat which destroys a large segment of population. The root cause for Janapadodhvamsa has been stated to be Adharmanot following humanitarian code of conduct. The forces generating loss of lives and properties and environment have been divided into four types as 1.Vayu 2.Jala 3.Desha & 4.Kala

3 Modern age is marked by the development of industrial and technological sectors. Increasing industrial growth, no doubt, helps to boost the economy but at the same time if proper care is not taken would generate many accidents and disasters also. In the same manner with the advancement of technology the world has been squeezed and is on the palm top of person but many a time the proud owner of such gazettes have to pay the prize in the form of their lives even.

5 This study being literary review study was based on literary material available through various sources. An extensive data mining was carried out from various texts, peer reviewed journals, periodical, websites of concern subjects etc. finally the document has been prepared by going through and utilizing the relevant portion of the reference material compiled under respective capitals.

6 Due to the impairment and abnormalities of four factors along with their respective characteristics features of vitiation are considered to be responsible for the destruction of countries by epidemic diseases and natural disasters. Abnormalities of Vayu like violent blowing, roughness, blowing from contrary direction and clashing with itself leads to cyclone. Abnormalities of Jala like having extremely aberrant smell, color, taste and touch, abounding with putrescent matter leads to Tsunamis or flood.

7 when earth loses its fertility leading to the impairment of the Rasa, Veerya, Vipaka and Prabhava. Earthquake is caused by impairment of characteristic features of earth. It is one of the most catastrophic natural disaster. Due to abnormalities of Kala Climatic patterns are changing which causes serious and unpredictable impacts on environment.

8 Besides these natural disasters there are also man made disasters which are causing destruction of environment and lives of people and in present, industrial and technological disasters are more common. Different types of industries are making different types of environmental and health hazards. For example, cement industries, brick industries, coal industries and textile industries are major among all. Technological disasters : Building collapses, failure of data transfer, physical destruction of computers or communications equipments, nuclear reactor accidents etc.

9 These disasters are causing the destruction of fauna, flora, environment and ecology. Root cause for vitiation of air etc. factors is Adharma. Man s quest to live beyond one s resonances and supplements is boosting the occurrence of sinful acts resulting in deforestation, crime, bomb blast etc. and ultimately causing disasters related to Janpadodhvmsa. Its not only causing hazards to human and environmental health but it also affects the financial world, human psychology, the spiritual health of people and immorality is generated. People suffer from PSTD (posttraumatic disorders), depressions, bitterness about loss, etc. Who are not destined to die during the epidemics, for their cure Panchakarma and Rasayana therapies have been advocated along with following of good civil conduct.

10 In Chraka Samhita Sutrasthana Ch.8 the code of conduct (Sadavrutta) is very well described. As one should worship god, cow, Brahmin, preceptors, elders, sages, teachers, one should avoid Prajnaparadha, etc. are the code of conducts. By following all these rules mentioned in classics though, disasters cannot be stopped but, it would help to protect from Adharma which is the root cause of Janapadodadhvamsa. Truthfulness compassion for living beings, charity, prayer to god, adoption of preventive measures, discussion of religious scriptures, etc. are the therapies which should be adopted during the epidemic to save one s self from malefic effects. Proper safety measures, proper maintenance of machines, equipments and infrastructural facilities and safety training are the steps if are followed properly industrial and technological disasters can be prevented.
